Hopelessly's Trip to Miami

Starting off at Laguardia airport in NYC 11:45 flight into Miami

Terminal FULL of Irish fans, me and the First Lady will be taking shots with some lucky fan on the plane.

later we have reservations at Gotham Steak which is in the Alabama team hotel and a Miami hotspot, should be a nice place for some banter.

I'm leaving from Albany, NY in the morning.  Just checked in and found out I was upgraded to first class all the way to Miami.  It's a fair assumption I'll be drunk before I hit Atlanta!!!  See you there, GO IRISH!

I leave Monday morning from Shreveport, LA.  I canceled my first two days of classes and told my students it was a National Holiday.

Got here this morning...hung out on Ocean Drive all day! Pep rally was pretty good, I think Tony Rice was drunk...he didn't make any sense whatsoever. Lou was awesome as expected!

Jesus Fallen, I hope the Irish have the same luck that you've had in getting to this game. Weren't the plane and game tickets free?

Quote of the night at the pep rally was from Lou talking about his good friend Mark May "Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're and A- Hole". The turnout was crazy I can't put a number on it but there were a sea of people.

I leave for Miami from Phoenix at 1am on Monday Morning.  Get into West Palm Beach around 10:30, then straight to Notre Dame Game Day at Bayfront Park.  Will be a long day, but will be one of the best days of my life.  26 hours away and it begins!!!

Ya that was pretty sweet, and the one about the priest from the University of Miami who got up at the luncheon and said God didn't care who won the game, and Lou shot back ya but His mother does! Freaking awesome! Please tell me you weren't the drunk guy who kept yelling out Catholics vs Cousins and Domers vs Mobile Homers, that guy was getting on my damn nerves.

No that was not me but I did have some student near me who were hammered and complaining that "it wasn't what we thought it would be". They were too drunk to pay attention and referred to Tony Rice as "some random guy", they left early which was ok with me

Glad to hear that the Catholics vs Cousins and Domers vs Mobile Homers tasteless trash talk got on your nerves. Not trying to go all tough guy but the guy doing that would be wise not to do that to Bama fans at the game especially if Notre Dame wins. Most Bama fans can take the ribbing but that guy might end up in a hospitable if he pulls that crap around the wrong person. Wish I could make it down there for the game. I've heard it's been a good time down there.

Everyone seems to be coexisting very well so far, we'll see if that changes tomorrow at the tailgate. I won't be getting all liquored up but I'm sure some people will be.

Haha been pretty fun so far. Most of the bama fans have been great. So far ND fans from what I have seen have outnumbered bama fans 10-1

That's about what I expected as far as the crowd distribution. I know dozens of Bama fans that went to Pasadena in 2009 and New Orleans last year but only know 2 going to Miami. I know VERY few Bama season ticket holders who had the Tide Pride points to qualify for tickets to the game. My brother and sister in law who live in New Orleans had the hotel booked but just missed out on tickets as they didn't have enough points. My buddy from Memphis called me yesterday wanting me to go in with him for a pair but I don't have $700 on such short notice I can spend. I think Notre Dame will outnumber Bama fans 70/30.

Wasn't sure if you were right about Tony being banged up but now I'm convinced after I met him at Finnegans on ocean drive where I doubt he paid for a drink all weekend.

Was anyone at the concert on South Beach tonight? Great turnout, place was packed and Flo Rida put on a great show I didn't know he was a part of so many hits.

RE: Hopelessly's Trip to Miami

Tony and I went through divorces together...... I'm 15 years older, so I watched him have fun with a lot of beautiful young women and.... Well, I watched.... I mean not in weird way..... But, We were together for 2 years..... Sometimes, he'd call at like 11:00 and say, get ready we are going to a party... I'd be on the couch in my skivvies, 30 minutes later on the road from South Bend to Chicago..... Home by 7:00 am...... I never saw him take a single drink....... And, I don't drink so I didn't miss much....

Now, if Hopeless saw him drinking........ Are days of hanging out we're 9 years ago.......

Now that all things have been rebalanced in the universe:  We will win again!  We will dominate again!  Because?  WE  ARE  ND!!! And, they're not.......
