RE: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
No doubt there are some fans on both sides doing exactly that, but the numbers are greater for Alabama. The more thorough one's research, the more one will realize this game is a toss-up, with a close game likely and a smaller but real chance that either team could blow out the other if somebody has a bad day. Both team's have something in the neighborhood of a 50% chance of victory. Anybody who claims their team has better than a 60% chance is definitely whistling past the graveyard regardless of whether fate eventually supports their braggadocio. The difference is you will find more cocky Tide fans than Irish fans. CrimsonTideFan199 wrote: I think y'all maybe whistling past the cemetary.

I wouldn't be so cocky yet. You still gotta suit up and beat Alabama. Bama's offense and defense will be the best you have seen yet.

RE: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
The way these SEC defenses have been shredded, I wouldn't go that far. Most people say Florida and LSU's defenses are just as good, if not better than Bama's. (How did they fair again?) I would definitely put Stanford's and maybe even MSU's defense up against these so-called SEC juggernaut defenses. As far as offenses go....wait a minute, did you say this would be the best offense ND has seen? I feel no need to even comment on that.

I feel no need to even comment on that. I remember when Bama played a top ten MSU defense. Julio, Trent, Mark & Lacy scored on them repeatedly. Bama put up 49 points on that top Big ten defense. Bama put up 31 points in the first half against one of the top Big ten defenses this year. I have a little more respect for Stanford's defense, but they still gave up 48 points to Arizona. You can mock Bama's offense if you want too, but I doubt Te'o or Kelly would do the same.

RE: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
Wake, Miami, MSU, Navy, BC and you could possibly say Oklahoma winning by 3 scores and allowing only 15 rushing yards. So half of their opponents cmayes wrote: Title of the thread... SEC hasn't dominated anyone! Who has ND dominated this year.. Wake Forest?

Which all 6 of those teams are FBS schools and 4 of them were bowl eligible but Miami self imposed a bowl ban. The mighty SEC only dominates the 2 or 3 FCS schools on their schedule and maybe Kentucky, Auburn & Tennessee. The latter combined for ONE conference win this year. Congrats!

RE: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
I will humbly add to my subject thread....this year.
There have been past seasons where the SEC has been a dominant conference no doubt.
However all the superiority trash talk such as the Miss St guy saying that NW's running back would be an ordinary athlete...or the ongoing claim that ND wont have seen ANYTHING like the speed toughness etc etc of the Bama defense...well, i dont think thats true based on the resulkts of these bowls
I know I know Florida LSU Mss St didnt want to play and So Carolina, and Georgia barely wanted to play...I know the SEC only matters so the real games are played between SEC teams.....talk about the height oif arrogance. And if all that is true shame on you all or y'all, for putting a team on the field that doesnt want to be there....what a crock
oh yea from one of the Florida boards before the game last night; "Bridgewater has never seen the speed on defense like he will see in New Orleans. I fear for his safety."
Bama is a great team ....but this bowl season has given me all the confidence that ND will be right there in one tough battle
The OU A&M game will be VERY interesting to watch friday night

Re: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
I wouldnt lump Alabama in with the rest of the SEC in the bowl games this year. Having said that so far I havent seen an SEC team play yet that is as good as Stanford on defense. South Carolina has a great DLine and Georgia may have the most NFL talent on defense of any team in college but none of SEC teams I have seen play in a bowl this year play as physical or disciplined as Stanford has the four times I have seen them play this year.
I would also say as great as the football in the SEC is why is the coaching so ordinary? If Brian Kelly did what Les Miles did the ND fan base would riot.

Stanford gave up 48 points and 617 yards to Arizona.
Bama has set the bar for physical and disciplined defense.

Bama has set the bar for physical and disciplined defense. Ok. We'll see. That's not what the stats and results say but we will let it play out.

ECHO, ECho, echo. How many times have ND fans heard that exact same statement about almost all of our opponents this year?

Re: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
These Bama dudes have already been chin checked once this year by a freshman QB. Their NC run will be over on Monday. These fools are cocky as hell. I guess they forgot who is the #1 team and Who is under them. LETS GO IRISH!!!

How many have a QB who is ranked #1 in passing efficiency and has a BCS MVP award? How many have 3 AA on the offensive line? How many have two 1,000 yard rushers? How many have held their opponents to less than 11 points and less than 250 yds a game? How many have Nick M'n F'n Saban as their coach? None of the teams you have played are as talented, experienced, well rounded, or coached as well as Bama. Bama is legit. You guys know this. ND is too. It will be a battle.

Yeah, beating Oklahoma in Norman by a wider margin than anyone in the Stoops era and since 1997 doesn't sound dominating at all, does it? What's your dominating game? Auburn? Mighty Western Carolina? Michigan, I would say.

Bama is legit. You guys know this. ND is too. It will be a battle. There is no doubt that Bama will be the toughest game of the year. I just hope the players have their heads as far up their asses as you do.

Instead you have a guy who threw two picks and got pulled against Michigan and who fumbled three times and couldn't finish the game against Stanford. I expect Rees to get in this game for sure.

Re: The SEC hasnt dominated ANYONE
Remember that Georgia had to come from behind to beat a team (Nebraska) that had lost it's last game by having 70 point s rung up on them. Georgia did not score 70 like Wisconsin did.
The only thing left is for Notre Dame to take care of business, and the conjecture will be left behind us.
