I just don't understand our coaches sometimes.

I just don't understand our coaches sometimes.

So Doc said in his press conference that Rodney Allen will be moving from WR to CB.  Why?  When you have Chocolate Wilson and Donaldven Manning that actually play corner.  Some moves just boggle my mind.

because they're hurt and he probably has a better understanding of their recovery timeline?

And right now, where is Allen going to play/ who do you want to take reps from?

Didn't you post a couple of weeks ago about how you trust Doc's handling of the running backs?

One doesn't have anything to do with the other.  He is not mismanaging the RB position.  The RBs continue to improve.  You can have differring opinions on different positions.

This one doesn't make sense to me because Doc priased Allen in camp for his work at WR and we were supposed to be deep at CB.  I just wonder what changed.  I didn't say I don't trust Doc. I am just puzzled by this move.  I didn't say all Doc's moves were genius.  I still stand by my opinion that allowing Rippon to convince him to move Daniel from LB to DE was a mistake.

My deal with the RBs is that most of the people's gripes come off to me as they are upset their favorite player isn't getting to play.   I mean people are still trying to say that Johnson doesn't belong in the backfield.  That is how the RB argument always comes up.  They think this guy should play over this guy because they like him better.   They don't like the order of carries people get.  My defense with Doc on the handling of  Butler is that unlike what people wanted to believe Doc didn't have a vendetta on Butler.  Butler was doing it to himself.  And the handling of Butler did not hurt our backfield.  If you mismange something you are hindering it.

We probably have a dozen guys currently ahead of him on the depth chart. So how is that really puzzling, even disregarding the situation at corner? Seems like more like a non-issue compared to choosing a first-team RB, regardless of the outcome.

With Baxter and Manning already hurting, and with Swag and Tindal being the only other non true freshman ready to play, that leaves Rowe, Wilson and .....

he stated in his presser that it is a position where you can say, hey, go guard that guy. There isnt a lot of thinking.

Rowe, Tindal and Roberts played at least 43 snaps each this past weekend. someone else has to be ready.

Allen was behind a AJL, Allen, Reaves, Hunt who is now healthy, and Beal just to name a few on the outside.

Did Beal see any action on against Little Miami?

Yea I don't know about that.  Your comment comes across like Doc has made a mistake in choosing his first team RB.  Devon had the best camp this year and Essray had the best camp last year.  There is more to playing the RB position in our offense than running really fast.

I never said one way or the other. I'm just pointing out that it's a decision that ultimately warrants actual scrutiny because it matters. The Allen situation is about on the same level as worrying who our 4th string punter is.

Beal did not play this past weekend, nor did Allen at WR. he is listed on the participation list, but it must have been special teams.

Agreed. Let's not degenerate into the name calling like some other boards have. Everyone should be able to express their opinions here without being insulted.

I think Doc likes the Allen kid as an athlete. He has said over and over that he wants his best athletes on the field.

I agree with you on Allen. The kid is an athlete, and probably one of the best kids I have ever spoken to. From what I gathered from him, he just wants to be a part of a football team, he truly loves the game.
