No speculation in the article of the target but speculation on Twitter says Tulsa and get this Rice is on the radar. I guess after they took Tulane anything is possible.

I still think Navy could possibly back out after Boise and SDSU left. If so, I have to think USM is the next one up after Tulsa.

Belive me, Tulane gets about as much of the New Orleans market as FAU gets Miami. The actual people in the seats down there are about 5,000 per game. I've been down there for football and basketball and when we check into the hotel, the staff had no idea that Tulane had a game and that anyone from a visiting school would come.

When we were there for a Sat night basketball game, I actually counted 203 people there. That included the 4 Tulane cheerleaders, players, staff and referees. Of that number there were 35 Marshall fans in attendance.
Eralier that day Tulane had drawn over 2,000 for baseball game.
They are 100% LSU fans down there.

The thing about market size may not always mean just those that follow the local team (Ex Rutgers or Tulane). It is about all the other eyes in the area that follow the other schools. The Rutgers to the Big Ten is the best example. While Rutgers may not "own" the NY market there are tons of Big Ten alumni in the NYC area that are eyes that want to follow their teams. While Rutgers themselves may not be a draw all the other Big Ten teams will brings eyes to the TV sets.

I think a conference should go after the best team not a market.
