Chuck was blowing Pruett back in the day when our coaches were leaving for raises, promotions, etc at other schools. It happens to Doc and it's the end of the program...

Doesn't bother me too much right now, but if for some reason we end with a below .500 record again next year, I don't want to hear Aaron suddenly telling everybody Doc needs another year because he lost all his coaches in the offseason.

I have used a lot of reasons for losses before, I honestly do not think coaching turnover has ever been one of them.

Haha, I wasn't saying you have, but if we get to that point, you may be running out of excuses.

No, not at all. With the talent here on campus right now, and the schedule, and everything, I can assure you I dont see how I could justify a losing season, outside of Cato, Shuler, Grooms, and every DB getting hurt in August and missing the season.

The schedule? What makes you think this schedule is going to much easier than last year? Sure we don't have Purdue and uwv but the conference schedule will be just as tough. We don't have Purdue and uwv OOC but we do play at VT and at Ohio.. We couldn't beat Ohio at home last year. Replace uwv with VT and no game with Miami OH is a give me. We will have to fight for that one.. And the last time we saw our D play they were giving up a bunch of yards and points. There was no improvement from week 1 to week 12. We will be making 2 trips to Texas where the HERD is terrible lifetime 1-8 lifetime. plus a trip to La Tech.. I see us once again struggling down the stretch for .500...

Miami is awful and no where near Purdue, so this year is easier OU loses their oline and a lot of defense, so at worse its a draw compared to this year VT is tough but not wv, this year is easier Gardner Webb is not Western Carolina, this year is easier
We dont play UCF. We dont play Tulsa. We dont play ECU. We dont play Houston.
We play USM at home compared to on the Road. We play UAB at home compared to on the Road.

I still see us coming into November still looking for that 6th win. On paper it might look easier but it's going to be just as tough to find some wins.

RE: Eight staff members have departed Marshall's football staff (1 vote)
You say Miami is bad but I still see it as a toss up. Virginia Tech will be a loss Ohio has ALWAYS played us within a score at their place even back when they were winning a couple games a year and we were a lot better than we are now. I put that one in the loss column. Garden Webb will be a win
So that is either 2-2 or 1-3 in OOC
I heard the BE is staying at 10 and we will be playing ECU We will see but that one is a toss up. If not and we play FAU at home it should be a win. Southern Miss has gotta be better than last. Last year was almost like a fluke. Even So lets say we win it. We should beat UAB at home If North Texas is at home it should also be a win
3-1 at home vs C-USA
La Tech on the road L UTEP on the road L FIU and if we play Tulane both should be wins but I say someone screws something up and we split them. If Tulane is out and we travel to MTS we lose that one.
1-3 C-USA on the road.
So 2-2 OOC 3-1 Home C-USA and 1-3 road C-USA is 6-6.. Best case

Re: Eight staff members have departed Marshall's football staff (2 votes)
I would like to know when Chuck is going to start putting some posters names at the bottom of this columns because he's been quoting a lot of posts in his latest columns.
This just shows what most know, that with the exception of his "game reports" about 98% of chuck's columns he is given the topic of what to write and who he's getting this from is not in favor of the man leading the Herd football program at this time.
