Update; It's official, MTSU and FAU joining this fall?  (1 vote)
Saw this on CSNBBS... http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/college_sports/ utsa/article/UTSA-distancing-from-realignment-talk -4189872.php Says that MTSU and FAU are close to joining C-USA starting this fall. Personally, I find it a great move. Would be interesting to see how the scheduling works out though. *******Update, saw this posted on Twitter from Southern Miss beat writer: Florida Atlantic and MTSU will join Conference USA for the 2013 football season - a year earlier than expected

Is this assuming ECU and Tulane leave early? Or MTSU and FAU join regardless and we could have a 14 team league next season?

So what are the divisions going to look like? I can't even keep track of who's in and who isn't..

Right now ECU and Tulane are still technically in C-USA. One would assume they'll try to leave this fall instead of next year, but I supposed it is a possibility that they don't.

If the change does happen...I assume we would go to MTSU and get FAU at home to keep the Florida balance. An easy trip to MTSU would be nice. The bad thing was I was planning to try and go to New Orleans next fall.
Oh well...if they don't want to be with us then let them pay a lot of money and leave earlier.
Personally...I think the CUSA East teams leaving along with Marshall, USM and a few others should just start a new conference. I figure UC and UConn will end up somewhere else. A nice Eastern Based conference would be good and competitive. I think the Mountain West could end up making it harder for their teams to "run the table" and get high enough to get into that BCS Slot. They could end up beating each other up which in my opinion is what has hurt CUSA at times when teams get closed to going undefeated.

A new Eastern Conference would be great. Assuming Cincy and Yukon end up somewhere else.. Lets just start up North and work our way South ~ UMASS, Temple, Army, Navy, TMU, WKU, MTS, ECU, UCF, USF, USM and someone else.. Flip a coin between FIU, FAU possible even Memphis and or La Tech if they would not be heading too far West. Keep everyone East of the Mississippi..
