I am not happy with the way this season is panning out thus far, and I am not happy with the young guys on this team and the fact that right now the future may not be bright.
However, we dont know about the future, and like it or not, Herrion is coming off two straight post season tourneys including a trip to the NIT for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.
Now, zero CUSA games into the season, we want him fired??
We ran into a buzz saw today, and I know it is not only about today, but today was a team that got SUPER HOT, and we got beat down.
What I liked was the way Kane, Pittman, and Hanner played till the end.
What I am trying to say is, has this season panned out yet...no, but we are 0 - 0 in CUSA, with a HUGE home game coming up this Wednesday.
Fans get mad when a coach walks out on a contract to go elsewhere, but then have no problem wanting their school to walk out on a contract?

RE: Tom Herrion (2 votes)
The problem I have with Herrion is what is happening seems to be exactly what the CoC fans warned us about when he was named coach. We don't have the money to fire him right now anyway. We are stuck with him for at least one more year.

Re: Tom Herrion (13 votes)
We lost to a 8-5 MAC team by what???? 37 points. Any worse?
Well losing to a 5-8 Delaware State team at home.
Herrion places too much emphasis on recruiting athletes. We need more players with pure basketball ability and basketball IQ.

We get rid of more coaches than any other school you can name. Something isn't working in Huntington........Greg White would have been good and he had a good record and was a Marshall boy but everyone got pissed off because he didn't win the MAC and they fired him. Donnie Jones was sick of the administration and how things worked there....or so I'm told by someone who should know, and then bolted the first chance he got. Whatever we're doing isn't working......the fans want a winner but they want to win in the big time....we ain't the big time and, until that is accepted, we're going to continue the revolving door.

That should never be something that is accepted.

Re: Tom Herrion (1 vote)
I'm just hoping he leaves. Win or lose I've heard it's a possibility now. Not a great possibility but he's not as comfortable here as he was a year ago.

I've definitely heard he's rubbed some people the wrong way. I know nothing personally, however, to either confirm or deny what I've heard through the grapevine.
