ECU and Tulane to Big East Post Rating (1 vote)

ECU for football only, Tulane for all sports.

So, uh, what's next for the Herd?? Looks like we're left with a conference that is only slightly better than I-AA.

Looks like we are in a conference where our closest road game is far far away. Time to call the MAC or Sun Belt.

Yeah, just head back to the MAC. If Kent State can make a BCS game there's no shame in just heading back and trying to make a Boise State type run.

I agree. Time to get off this sinking ship. Best option would be to go back to the MAC. I think second best is to try to form a new all-eastern based conference.

Marshall
Southern Miss
FIU
UAB
LA Tech
WKU
MTSU
FAU
and 2-4 others.

Kent State isn't going to a BCS game this year.

I wouldn't mind your second option if we could get Toledo, Ohio, maybe Akron (potential with Bowden only) to be a part of it, JC.

I don't think MAC schools will ever leave the MAC.

I know the possibility is slim and none, but any chance some former C-USA schools go to bat for us for a Big East invite? They are at 15 schools right now with the rumor that UL, UC, and UCONN are out the door after the ACC Championship.

IF they beat NIU and Stanford beats UCLA again they are.

If ECU could only get a sniff with a football only invite, we won't get jack diddly crap. You can see with the Tulane pick that they are ONLY after big market teams and only brought along ECU because they begged long enough and they bring the only football credibility that the entire conference will have.

I am dead serious about going back to the MAC. I would much rather do that. Although with one caveat, only 1 weeknight game per season.

Tulane...

They are really just grasping for markets at this point.

The MAC needs a 14th team. We have established relationships with the teams. I'm just not sure how bad we burned our bridges. Also, I just can't stomach the thought of playing every game we have on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday night.

I think it's more of a "Who would you rather play" discussion. UTSA and FIU doesn't really excite me like Toledo or Ohio would. Just me though.

I don't want anything to do with this C-USA. We are literally having to draft a handful of I-AA teams to stay afloat. If I wanted to go back to I-AA, I'd want us to go back to the Southern Conference.

Absolutely.  I don't have any interest in playing Old Dominion, FIU, Texas Alfredo, and NorthWest Central Florida Community College.
