Cam Cameron is LSU's new offensive coordinator

Cam Cameron is LSU's new offensive coordinator, a source confirmed to CBS on Friday. Cameron and Tigers head coach Les Miles have been tight for years, dating back to their days on Bo Schembechler's staff at University of Michigan in the '80s.The 52-year-old Cameron had been the Baltimore Ravens OC but was fired during the regular season, before the team went on its Super Bowl run. Cameron replaces Greg Studrawa, who ran a Tiger team that finished No. 85 in the nation in total offense in 2012. LSU, which finished 10-3, did have to overcome an assortment of injuries on its O-line.

Cameron does have a good reputation for developing talent. He deserves credit for the evolution of Ravens QB Joe Flacco, who Cameron mentored for five seasons (2008-12). While in San Diego with the Chargers (2002-07), Cameron played a key role in the development of Pro Bowl QBs Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, RB LaDainian Tomlinson and TE Antonio Gates.
