When asked what made the SEC such a great conference,Swinney said it wasn't about the conference, but a few teams that make national headlines each year and then gave credit to the SEC's television contract

Given the fact that he played at BAMA and won a Natty there, he may know what he's talking about.

Given the fact his soft ACC team just beat LSU, maybe he does.

If the SEC ever expands to 24 teams, Clemson might have a chance to get in.

RE: Clemson's HC Swinney says Tigers might as well be in the SEC

One of the best things to happen to Alabama football in awhile was the admission of Texas A&M into the conference.  This will have a profound effect on LSU's ability to recruit in Texas, where Saban has little presence.  The next best thing was for the SEC to make Florida LSU's premanent SEC East opponent while handing Alabama Tennessee.  The third best thing was for the SEC to give LSU Georgia next year as its rotating SEC opponent while burdening Alabama with the perennial powerhouse Kentucky.  Not to be a conspirator theorist, but someone in the SEC has it in for the Tigers.

Moreover, Swinney shold watch what he wishes for.  Beating that LSU team last week was like LSU beating Townson.  The LSU offense may as well be in Division II.
