The Advocate: " Five reasons LSU should leave the SEC
 By Scott Rabalais The time has come.Imbalanced, arbitrary football schedules, unfavorable bowl politics and a conference office that frequently indicates it is ignoring LSU’s concerns and needs have led the school and its athletic program to this point:It is time to consider seceding from the Southeastern Conference.LSU is a charter member of the SEC dating to 1933, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay there forever. Not if there are other, appealing options out there.Where could LSU go? With the Big East dissolving, the ACC in flux, the Big Ten and Pac-12 too far away and independent status not a viable option for scheduling and economic reasons, LSU’s only real option would be to join the Big 12. It’s the conference closest to LSU in terms of physical location and philosophy.
Here are five reasons why there’s no better time for LSU to leave the SEC:

Quote: The main problem, from LSU’s perspective, is a schedule that puts the Tigers at a competitive disadvantage to its chief rival for SEC West supremacy (with apologies to Texas A&M and Johnny Heisman), Alabama. Not only does LSU have to play at Alabama in 2013 as it usually does in odd-numbered years, but the Tigers also have to play at Georgia and host Florida, teams that tied for first in the SEC East this past season with 7-1 marks. |

Five reasons newspapers are becoming obsolete?
1. NOT enough good writers.
2. More ads than stories.
3. NOT enough local coverage of youth sports, etc.
4. ALL papers are owned by same news agency, or very few?
5. THIS story.

Rabalais Rabalais Rabalais......are you freeking nuts? almost any team would bend head over heals to join the greatest conference in the nation, the SEC.....and you'd propose LSU to leave it...thats an insane thought..  LSU ....IF YOU'RE NOT LIVING IT....YOU' RE DYING !! |

Didn't he also write a piece entitled "5 Reasons why LSU should stay in the SEC"?
I suppose he's just stirring the pot to see what reaction he would get.

How about writing something that is somewhat close to reality?
Perhaps:
5 reasons Mingo, Montgomery and Minter should stay?
10 reasons LSU should win the NC in baseball this season?
100 reasons the LSU basketball team is better?
Or top 10 reasons we still hate Ole Miss!!!! (for the old school crowd)

I completely agree. Hard to fault a kid that is projected to be a 1st round pick. I think Mont and Mingo will definitely declare. Just the way it is!
Minter, however, I believe will stay. And be our leader on offense.

1st, there are those that have been screaming about the Bama Bias for 30 years, FINALLY someone printed it ,good for him. 2nd, Kiper believes most of LSUs underclassmen would do themselves justice by staying in school,now gotta find the article but I think there was only 1, and that was SM that should leave early
