With the contact period set to expire shortly, LSU has scheduled official visits for many of its top remaining targets, as well as a handful of its current committed prospects. While the visits are designed for most as a re-affirming experience, for others, it could be an a essential step on the road to their signatures.LSU is known for putting together great visits that have helped flip the script on many prospects. The question, however, remains: Will the Tigers be able to do the same this weekend?

It looks as if the Tigers will finally get the long awaited visit from Willis and his family. The trip to Baton Rouge was....ReadMore....

Maquedius Bain, 6-3 300, DT/OL, University School, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, 2013
One of the most athletic defensive tackle prospects in the country, Bain, is set to visit LSU. University's defensive line was very good and managed without him, and with the offensive line the biggest question mark going into the season, he put the team first and played there during his senior season. It had some questioning his potential at defensive tackle, but it should be looked at in a different light: He showed the ultimate personal sacrifice for the betterment of his team. It is that character, along with his physical abilities that have the LSU coaches so high on him. And the word out of South Florida is that Bain feels the same way about the Tigers. With visits to Oklahoma and Marshall under his belt, LSU could take a huge step towards getting a commitment from one of the country’s most athletic defensive tackles.

LSU also made quite an impression on three other big-time recruits this weekend in Jamal Carter, Priest Willis and Josh McNeil. Of the three, the most likely to be LSU's next commitment is Jamal Carter, the 6-1, 175 four-star safety who is currently committed to Miami. Carter and his family reopened his recruitment because of concerns over Miami's looming NCAA investigation. I've learned that Carter was thoroughly impressed with his visit to LSU and the staff feels very good about where they stand. Priest Willis, also a superstar safety, really enjoyed his visit as well and tweeted some very encouraging things about his experience in Baton Rouge. I suspect that Willis’ decision/announcement won't be made for a while, and that even if LSU gets a commitment from Carter in the meantime they would make room for Willis. McNeil (6'5", 226, Durham, NC) is the tight end who is currently committed to Alabama. I don't know if his experience at LSU was enough to flip him, but I do know that he thoroughly enjoyed his visit. McNeil, Carter, Willis and Bain all spent a lot of time with All-American and projected first-rounder Eric Reid who made quite an impression on them.LINK
