Re: SEC vs PAC12

Soooo, how are spread option teams performing in the NFL?

Nobody runs it because the defensive ends and linebackers are too fast + big, something the PAC 8/10/12 has traditionally lacked as a whole.

Also, SEC offenses have the ability to move the ball while taking time off the clock, thus giving hurry-up teams fewer opportunities to possess the ball.

We can think critically over here too.

Pac 12 ......... ya'll talk a hell of a line but just can't prove it on the football field no matter how big the damn thing is
When ya'll win one or two national championships. Mouth off, be my guest, till that time the sec has six in a row....

Re: SEC vs PAC12

What PAC-12 fans fail to see is that it is defense, not offense, that is stressed in the SEC.
You can call our offenses bad all you want, but the fact is that the best athletes in the SEC aren't even on the offensive side of the ball.  And for a reason.

The spread offenses, including Chip Kelly's are made to exploit the space of the field with speed, finesse, and cadence, but when you have the athletes on the defensive side of the ball that can match up, in athleticism and conditioning, the outcome is not a foregone conclusion either way.
And, when the odds are not stacked in your favor offensively as they are for Oregon against everybody else in the PAC-12, losses occur along the way.

Re: SEC vs PAC12

root you know we have ups and downs but the ducks can move the ball. Now they have a QB that can get up the field. It pains me to say but the SEC will see soon enough, that i can promise. You guys might not give up 720 fing yards but they will score!! Please don't give me examples of Auburn & LSU games versus them because one key ability chips offense was missing a QB that is not only accurate but has 4.4 speed, account for that ugh. Saban reven sees' the writing on the wall by pre-complaining about the no huddle. What i noticed last night even though we practiced subbing in staying fresh it caused for mass confusion on who has what. Saban and Miles are way better defensive coaches and would have way more time to game plan but would that be enough? But our defense was Charmin SOFT so that could be part of it.
FIGHT ON!!!!

I checked in on your game with the Ducks from time to time.  It looked like lots of yards after contact, poor tackling.  Maybe tempo has something to do with that, but I don't think it will happen near as much if UO plays Bama in Miami.  Score will be in the 20's or 30's, not 50's or 60's.
