AFCW Week 5 Predictions

AFCW Week 5 Predictions

San Diego @ New Orleans:  I got a bad feeling about this game, the Saints are gonna be desperate, they have the ability to spread out our defense and pick on our weak CBs, and I have no faith that Bigby can cover Graham any better than he covered Gonzo. Its gonna come down to can we get pressure on Brees...and even if we do can we keep their receivers covered long enough for it to matter.
Chargers 24 Saints 30

Denver @ New England:  The Patriots don't lose at home twice in a row.  The Broncos safties won't be able to cover Gronk and Hernandez unless they move Bailey on them, which means one of their suspect CBs is going to be trying to handle Welker or Lloyd.  The Pats are also running extremely well right now.  I just think this is the worst possible matchup for the Broncos.
Broncos 21 Patriots 35

Kansas City vs Baltimore: I actally think KC's defense could slow down Baltimores rediculously good offense, but Charles will likely be shut down by that defense and Matt Cassel is still their QB so they will find a way to lose a closer game than most people will expect.
Ravens 21 Chiefs 14

Raiders: BYE

Re: AFCW Week 5 Predictions

Agree, agree, agree.

Saints over the Chargers. Probably by more than two touchdowns. I pray I am wrong but know that I'm right.

New England over Denver. I just don't see Denver's D as strong as it once looked. New England at home is almost always a lock. New England by 10.

Baltimore over Kansas City. Last week the Chiefs made a lot of mistakes. Can't imagine them repeating those to the same degree. Close game with the Ravens prevailing by a TD.

Raiders gain a little on all of us since they have their BYE.

Chargers 3 - 2
Broncos 2 - 3
Raiders 1 - 3
Chiefs 1 - 4

Wow our division sucks.

NO vs SD   this is a toss up.  I will say NO in a close one because of desperation, home field advantage and Cason

NE beats Denver

Baltimore beats KC

Mark my words, there will be a bunch of upsets this week.

Chargers lose to the Saints by 7pts in the 4th quarter.

New England puts their foot down on Denver, McDaniels revenge factor.

And my upset special of the week KC actually beats Baltimore. Funny feeling here folks. I think KC rebounds....Baltimore loses some weird ones on the road over the years, including San Diego.

And despite the Raiders having a BYE, they still get a loss...don't ask how, it's the Raiders.

Good luck to all.

oh was that what happened? a weird loss where they actually allowed a team to score on them in 6 consecutive drives

Chargers had nothing to do with it...eek1

at least there are fans who appreciate the ass whipping the Ravens got that day

You love hiding from the facts.

When was the last time the Chargers won a meaningful game against a top caliber team in the NFL?

I honestly can't remember. The win against the Ravens was impressive. If the game was at Baltimore and it was to get into the playoffs for either team, we would have lost by 40 pts.

It was a great win....loved it, but lets get real....which is tough for you, I understand, when you live in a fantasyland of unicorns and rainbows.

during the regular season the most meaningful games for us is winning against our division opponents wouldnt you agree?...we are 2-0

Re: AFCW Week 5 Predictions

This week I've got:

Chargers over Saints.  I'm sorry but the Saints run defense is a sieve, and the Chargers have some very capable runners.  This might be a return to "Martyball" for just one game.  The Saints continue their nightmare of a season.

Ravens over Chiefs:  There have been some reports that the players are starting to doubt the ability of Cassel.  That's never a good thing, and the Ravens D is still one of the best in the league.  Not a good matchup here.

Patriots over Broncos:  I see these two teams as being very evenly matched but the homefield advantage is what edges me into the Patriots camp.

Yes these picks might appear to be homerish, but I'm trying to be real here....  I honestly think that this is the way it all goes down this weekend.

Why do these posts start becoming about me and you? I just want to talk football. I think other posters would agree. I get the occasional ribbing, I enjoy it, but sometimes, it's a little old. You know I love you man, seriously. Good stuff...but let's try to keep the eye on the ball sometimes.

i just find it a bit rich that the one person who doesnt believe in this team and predicts them to get destroyed, would after a WIN give us his view on what he expects from this team

you cant have your cake and eat it too, ill always call you out

Chargers win in convincing fashion. Broncos stay close initially before New England pulls away. Chiefs get destroyed.

One thing about the NFL this year especially, don't expect the obvious to always happen. This week will be upset city.....

Chargers beat Saints
Patriots beat Broncos
Ravesn beat Chiefs
Raiders bye

I think the Chargers have a real good chance to pad their AFCW lead.

Revenge for what?  Setting our franchise back a few years with his insane draft moves?

He did get rid of Cutler at least.  I'll give him credit for that!

McDaniels is a little b##tard sh!t. Definitely a grudge holder....I think he's staying up 24 hours a day right now, game planning how to take advantage of the Denver's defense. That's my two cents....don't have to buy it.
