Why I think we will win in KC

Why I think we will win in KC

Our run defense is vastly improved with Reyes and now Liuget in his second year.  We should be able to force Cassel to have to win the game in the air and I'll trust PR over Cassel if our O-line can give PR even two seconds to throw the ball.

I think the Chargers are in trouble, I really do. I think the Chargers should win the game, they do have the better team, I just think the team will play sloppy and the mistakes will kill them yet again. The Atlanta game was a precursor for me, of what's to come. Chiefs have some playmakers on both sides of the ball too and are getting a few guys back on defense I believe. Let's hope the Chargers can play mistake free football and every player carries their weight, then there's a real chance for a victory.

Turnovers are the key. An away game in Arrowhead can often be a challenge when it comes to turnovers. That doesn't bode well for the good guys.

Head-to-head I think we beat them. But if that crowd, poor weather, and stupid mistakes factor into this one we shall be 2-2 after Sunday.

But I agree with SoCal. I do think we take this one.

It's a match up of Chargers vs. Norv's Chargers. If Norv's team does their usual bonehead things like turnover, give up sacks, surrender 3rd down conversions, take TOO long to adjust to the fact that the other team is GAMEPLANNING against you, then Chargers have a tough task.

If we keep the ball, ESPECIALLY in the redzone, get off the field on Defense, and give Rivers time, good Chargers win.

Yikes. Looks like it works both ways.

We should win this game.  Much better run defense this year and we should pressure Cassel with a better pass rush.  The Chiefs as well are a bit banged up.  We win 24-21

I'll be thoroughly annoyed if the Chiefs put up 21 points on our defense.  They're strength is running the ball, our strength is stopping the run, those should cancel eachother out.

The problem for KC is they don't have the QB or the WRs (Bowe is very questionable to play) to take advantage of our only real weak link on defense...our CBs.  Cassel is completely inept on 3rd down and in the redzone, and it showed against New Orleans as they only scored 1 TD (a 91 yard run) in the entire game.

If we lose its going to be a 12-10 type game where they kick 4 FGs and we turn the ball over several times.   But I'm gonna predict Gaither plays, and we win 20-10 or somewhere close to that.  I just don't see the Chiefs being able to move the chains on us with only a run game to hang their hat on.

All good responses in this thread.  I've pretty much come to terms with we are going to have to see how this year plays out until any decision can be made on Norv and AJ so may as well hope for the best and not be surprised if the worst happens.

The one thing that I do think about AJ, though, is if he does get the boot this year, we could see a Harbaugh type scenario where someone is brought in here who takes advantage of some of AJ's recent picks similar to what Harbaugh did with Singletary's players.  If AJ's drafting wasn't so BRUTAL from 06-09, he wouldn't be anywhere remotely near anything resembling a hot seat.

I agree.  Our run D has got to be one of the better in the league this year.  If we stop the run, like I think we can, I think that KC will be forced to throw, and that also plays into our hands.

KC's O-line is not all that great in the pass blocking department, and Ingram/Phillips should have a little fun on Sunday.....

With how bad the Chiefs have looked on D this year I think we should dominate this game. As long as we take care of the ball I say we win by at least 10.

It depends entirely on the Hali/Houston vs LT/Clary matchups.

If Gaither plays I have a tremendous amount of confidence that we will win, even if it gets ugly.   However Mike Harris will need  A LOT of help, and our offense looked like dog sh*t last week with Rivers wearing John Abraham on his back.

I really would be surprised if they score more than 14 against us.  Obviously not including the unforseen pick 6 or punt return TD.   So what we're asking of our offense is not unreachable.

Hope you are right on this one. The reason I gave them 21 against us is that our secondary is suspect and they have Bowe and a decent TE

I know this is cliche, but the Bolts win if they win the turnover battle. I think it's as simple as that. Rivers and Mathews don't give it up and Battle punches it in around the goal line against the team that released him, I think they win. I look for something in the neighborhood of a 24-16 score. In other words nothing like my alma maters game yesterday against Baylor where it ended 70-63.

Re: Why I think we will win in KC

Different week, same story.

If the Bolts make actual physical contact with every Chiefs pass rusher on most dropbacks (something they DID NOT do against the Falcons), and the still very out of sync Rivers and his receivers don't have to guess what each other is doing less than 2 seconds after the snap, the Bolts should win this one.

If the above doesn't happen, it's 2 - 2, and spiraling downward quickly.

For the first half at least, I am feeling prophetic.

Yep, except the one play off that our D took on the Charles TD, our front 7 has come to play.  No doubt Butler is our best defensive player.

Our front 3 are doing a great job keeping him clean as well.  Liuget is beasting today, and as usuall for 3-4 DEs it wont show up in the stat column and he won't get credit for it on ESPN tonight, but the dude is man handling their OGs.
