Chargers improved pass rush will be tested early.
So I just saw a tweet with the Sacks Allowed numbers from last season. Out of the top 7 teams for fewest sacks allowed, Chargers were 8th btw, we face 5 of them. 4 in the first 5 weeks. Oakland, Tennessee, New Orleans, and Atlanta, then Cincinnati later in the season.
From what I remember from free agency, and correct me if I'm wrong, New Orleans is the only team to lose a big name from their line. It will be very interesting to see if we can see any improvement early in the year, esp since we start our season out facing Oak, Ten and Atl back to back to back. If we can come out of the first three weeks with at least 6-8 Sacks I would count that as a HUGE win for the defense and improved pass rush. Id hope for 10 but if I saw at least 2 sacks a game in those first 3 contests I will be very happy.

A lot will have to do with Pagano. If he is in "Rush 3" mode a lot we wont see much difference.

We can't forget that part of the problem was personnel. I was never a fan of Manusky, but maybe the reason we didn't "rush 4" is because our linebackers were not all that great, and our none of our D-linemen commanded a double team?
I think our secondary would be exposed underneath if we were overly aggressive with the pass rush last year.
Now that we have Ingram, Johnson, and Reyes, plus Castillo, we've improved in the pass rush department (on paper), so we can AFFORD to be a bit more aggressive.
Pagano's got some toys...
And .... dare I say it..... English is healthy... you never know...

Hmmmm, no mention of Vaughn Martin, guess he's out of the picture? lol Martin is located right below Jammer and right above Shaun Philips.
