Chargers Shoulder Weight of High Expectations

Chargers Shoulder Weight of High Expectations

A.J. Smith has often fretted over Chargers players "reading their own press clippings." Now, with the team coming off a season in which it won four straight games to reach the playoffs -- leading to a big upset over the red-hot Indianapolis Colts -- Smith has to hope history won't repeat itself.

The Chargers have finally learned how to win games when it matters, posting an excellent winning percentage in the month of December and winning playoff games in each of the last two seasons. Now, can the team find a way to treat every game like it matters? Another slow start could be too much of a hindrance in today's competitive AFC landscape, where nearly every team is a legitimate playoff contender.

What I can't understand is why some players feel the need to open their big mouths and basically taunt another team. Take Cromartie for example. First it was boasting that his "goal" was and absurd amount of picks for 2008. This year he has managed to piss off and energize the Chiefs. Why can't these guys just STFU and let their playing speak for them?

Today is the first day of  the rest of your life!

Wr's and corners are the two most trash talking possitions on the field. And my guess is there was some trash talking in our games with them last year. And now a healthy CRO wants them to know the same things wont happen again.Like I said in another thread these two teams haven't liked each other in along time. Now I hope with camp being closed players can focus on being the powerhouse that they can be when healthy.
