Next up: 49ers

Next up: 49ers

Preseason has been worse for the 49ers than the Chargers. They are coming off a 23-3 loss to the Ravens and a 49-0 embarrasment by the Broncos. Worse than what the Seahawks did to the Chargers. They have yet to score a TD this preseason. How can the Chargers possibly lose? Do the 49ers even have anyone that is a threat?

Re: Next up: 49ers

I believe that the 49ers will run all over the Chargers defense next Sunday.  I think we will do the same against them too.  The new stadium sounds really nice.  I plan to visit it on my next trip to the Bay Area.

It was 34-0 to the Broncos.

And we Know the 49ers are a good team, more preseason don't mean crap proof. But seriously our 1's on Offense need to stay On the field at least 1 quarter, and the Defense the Whole F'nk game. They can rest them game 4 since
We see the same team like 48 hours later. LOL

I don't need to see any starters at all. First of all I don't think McCoy is calling these games like he would in the regular season, so I see very little point to play established players like Floyd, Gates, Allen etc... Sitting Mathews last week was an enlightened move.  There is nothing for him to gain by getting 4 carries against that brutal defense, he knows the offense, he knows the terminology, and really the only way he can get better now is to work on pass protection.

Secondly, I fear the big injury we've avoided so far.  We dodged a bullet with Lissemore, and it doesn't sound as if Te'o's deal is as bad as last year.  Right now the only "contributor" who's missed serious time is Vincent Brown.  The last thing I want to see is King Dunlap getting a concussion, or DJ Fluker getting rolled up on needlessly.

Re: Next up: 49ers

Syx, I will Give you the Offense, but there is no way this D is competitive without more reps in real action, and I'm not talking keeping the play book close to the vest, I'm talking what we know as guys who jump in this forum almost everyday who these guys need some WORK and get on the same page. Trying to figure it out games 1and 2 for reals
Can bite us, and I'm still in the air on is it the players or the System? I was really starting to like what River Boat Ron
Had going on here.

Re: Next up: 49ers

Maybe you mistakenly saw the 49ers as 49-0 lol  Regardless, the Donkeys killed them in all phases.

Re: Next up: 49ers

1. Who's Going to Step up
2. Stop the Run
3. Convert on Third Down
4. Tackle and Bring the Heat
5. Offense Needs to “Be Efficient, Be Disciplined"

Click Keys to the game from chargers.com for more info

I read or heard somewhere that Rivers is going to play the entire first half.

GO CHARGERS!

Re: Next up: 49ers

49ers Offense: Irresistible Force

Chargers Defense: Immovable Object

Usually used with a positive connotation, but in this case it might be applied to the complete ineptitude of each facet thus far. So which wins out?

I'm a bit fearful that not having an anchor in the middle of the line could be the downfall of the team this year. The D-line needs to buck up and show something against the 9ers or my confidence could be shot.

Gosh, you know it's troubling when you're a New York Islanders fan and you're thinking they have a better chance to be a good team this year then the Chargers or Mets.

Re: Next up: 49ers

I want to see consistency and progress from the 1's and as I mentioned at the beginning of preseason..the most important thing is to come away from the game healthy.

Anyone in the Bay Area feel the 6.0 quake?

Let's hope this quake doesn't set the stage for the "big one" when the Chargers are in town!

Will this game be played? Fear of aftershocks? Power outage?

Re: Next up: 49ers

Yup. Thankfully wasn't close enough to do damage here. But close enough for it to wake me up.

PS Almost went to the game today (live here in Santa Clara). But, eh, it's preseason. Let's just hope the new sod they laid YESTERDAY, after the old one came apart this week, stays in place and doesn't cause any injuries. Please.

Please.
