So glad we did not draft Cyrus K.

Wow, anyone else watch him get beat like a drum all night long?  He looked absolutely lost out there.  I know there were a few who had wanted us to draft him.  Sure glad we didn't.

As much as I hate to admit this, I thought he would have been a good choice for the Bolts if we could have negotiated a trade.  LT wasn't an URGENT need, such as CB and OLB, but I thought Cyrus was a lot better than he showed.  Mea Culpa.

I took him off my draft board after the senior bowl.

I saw on my twitter feed during last night's game people commenting on how bad Cyrus looked.

But....with that said, he still is a serious physical specimen as long as his knee holds up.

I'd hate to dump on him completely with just one game under his belt. I'm sure he'll improve but as of right now, I do agree with your premise, that yes, he might have been a bad pick.

His feet looked very slow and no punch at all. I know it is his first experience in the NFL but he might be better suited at guard.

Not to go OT, but Hendersen held his own last night pretty well, but you are right coach, Cyrus was touted.

You callin me out? Lol jk

I'm definitely one that like Cy coming out of college. Seems ever since it was revealed that he was playing on a bad wheel it been downhill for the youngster but I'd hate to judge a player one just one game.

Because as they say, one game, does not make a career.

Maybe he goes on to have a great career and maybe not but, considering what he was prior to the injury becoming public, Cy definitely could have had a nice career under one Coach D as his OL coach.
It's not about how many times you get knocked down.  It's whether or not you are willing to get back up.

I think its a credit to the job TT and his staff have done. I believe the Bolts ended with the best 'Bama' lineman in Fluker!!

Re: So glad we did not draft Cyrus K.

From what I've heard the kid had the same injury and surgery that Grobk had and let all be honest here, Gronk hadn't been the same since

Gronk has been in and out for 2-3 seasons now while Cyrus missed I believe it was just the season he had surgery. So that in itself is a testiment to the kids ability to even be still considered elite at that level.

So I don't blame any team for passing on Cy after it came out because you are taking a chance on damaged goods.

My personal thoughts on Cyrus on just watching his sophomore year at Bama, are he was NFL bound and top shelf.

We're talking about a kid that got Fluker. Yes Chargers Fluker pushed over to the RT position in the first place. And that was as a sophomore. So talent wise he was that good.

Just remember that Tyronn Smith of cowboys also struggled a bit in his rookie year.

I watched him get used and abused like a rented mule by just about everyone on Oklahoma's front seven in their bowl game and that was enough for me. Then Beach had him touted as the second coming of Jonathan Ogden and that sealed his fate. I mean its funny to go back and look at some the nincompoopery to come out his mouth. Didn't like B. Cooks.Too short. Cant catch. Well, he's said to be the best player in Saints camp not named Brees. Loved Abredderis. Oops. Moreno would have been a much better get than D.Brown. OK? On and on and on....

As far as CK goes I could vooch for him having that kind of potential. But you have to remember that all and I mean all his issues came post injury.

Not to mention he's been playing on that bad wheel since that so called failed surgery which makes it worse.

Prior to that. If you go back to his sophomore tape. He was the staring blindside tackle for that same team that boasted the likes of Fluker (who was moved to RT because of Cy,) and you don't ever move an underclassman over for a senior play just because. Especially a caliber player like Fluker who already made a name for himself at Bama, Chance Warmack and Barrett Jones.

You don't get 1st team reps with that National championship OL let alone the blindside w/o some type of talent.

He myay not end up living up to his potential from early success at Bama but I can say with 100% assurance was that kid had very high level potential.

As for the rest of it. Well, Beach is on his own and can definitely handle his own. Lol.
