Re: Cornerbacks

Hard to tell because we don't know the value they place on Gilchrist as a CB. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of sub packages with Gilchrist and Addae both on the field. They could surprise us all by keeping Darby on as a 3rd SS, so in the event Gilly or Addae goes down we'll still be able to run that package.

It will come down to pre-season performance of course. But right now:

1. Flowers
2. Wright
3. Verrett
4. Marshall
5. Williams

And that's it for me.

Re: Cornerbacks

Butler, Rose, and Davis can project to play safety.  All would have better range, and coverage ability than Addae, Darby and Phillips.

Go ahead and laugh but Addae must improve if he wants to make this team and stay on it.  He was used for the most part in deep coverage, but his range limitations were evident.  He needs to speed train with Keenan Allen.

Funny how those mocking me probably were all for converting Jammer to safety.  All three of those CBs would be able to play man coverage on TE's and RBs like Pagano needs shis safeties to do.  Addae is great when he is close, but staying close is his issue.

Also I consider the source when they don't know Adrian Phillips is a UDFA rookie safety trying to make the team.

Re: Cornerbacks

Dude, we know exactly what youre saying, but unless Addae gets hurt, that UDFA ain't knocking him off his perch,
Trust me, and yes, Jammer's next move by a lot of us was to Safety because he Lost a Step, that's about it.

Re: Cornerbacks

Beach your desperation to get rid of Addae has gotten tired now. Let's just say, if the people who get paid to make these decisions agree with you I'm sure it will happen.

If not, I'm going to beg you not to give your vote of confidence to any players I actually like, it's starting to look like a curse.

Re: Cornerbacks

Butler, Cromartie, Ghee, Marshall, Rose, and Wright because they are the tallest, and Verrett because you just don't cut a first rounder.  So that means we will carry 7!!

Re: Cornerbacks

I have concerns about Verrett. He is coming off a shoulder injury and before that he had a hamstring injury. I hope he doesn't turn out to be injury prone.

Re: Cornerbacks

He seems to be very agreesive and not afraid to muck it up, hence the Red Jersey, it was to remind 22, to take it easy
While healing so ya, (I) can be a by-product of aggressive play but what do you do in game time, tell him to lay up?
Not hardly, let's hope for the best!

Re: Cornerbacks

Bob Sanders was a perfect example of that. He was a 5-8 guided missile who tried to rip the opposing player's head off every play and would break a few of his bones in the process. In the future I want to see Verrett lead this defense in interceptions not tackles.

I believe with his FBI's that's a very real possibility!

Re: Cornerbacks

My biggest worry regarding this year's draft.

Second biggest worry is now Watt is a little (?) banged up.
