Let's not forget, Oakland beat us last time

Let's not forget, Oakland beat us last time

Nothing could validate the Mike McCoy era better than making the playoffs in year one, and nothing could ruin the honeymoon faster than getting swept by the Raiders and eliminated by them at the same time. He's made a handful of mistakes this year (some bigger than others) but the biggest was getting trounced by the Turds in what looked like a circa Norv era caught flat on our heels performance.

This pound the rock and kill the clock scheme is nice, but Oakland exposed it last time and I have no doubt they'll try to stack the box, blitz, and dare our receivers to get open again. It's time to see if Mike McCoy is really the ultra modern adjust on the fly coach he was acclaimed as coming in, or if he has the his own crutch like Marty did with running, or Norv did with the deep ball.

This will be Mike McCoys biggest test IMHO, even if the Raiders aren't technically that good.

To me there's no reason to stop running the ball. Our run-blockers are healthy and Ryan is better than ever. Feed him the damn ball.

How much pounding can the kid take? He looked exhausted after the game on Thursday. We also don't have another RB like him because we cut Fozzy, so it's hard to go by committee when Ronnie Brown sucks like he does.

And even if we had LT and Turner again, you can't just run right into the teeth of a defense and expect to be productive, especially when our defense really isn't that talented....as they proved many times this year against bad teams.

He's got a week and a half!

Ryan was barely used (from the Wash. game through the Cincy game) after the off-week coming into the Giants game....68 carries in those five games. Not even 14 rushes per game after the break until last Sunday. Run him until he's exhausted. Quit trying to be cute.

With McGloin sucking today we probably have to face Pryor (if healthy enough). Yes he was benched for McGloin, but those mobile QBs tend to give our Charger D fits.

Yep. Scares the poo out of me. Just don't know if Butler is quick enough to spy an athlete like Pryor. The good news is that it seems apparent that Pryor is not exactly a rocket scientist.

He did run the ball 68 times in a matter 5 days. So I can see why he was exhausted. That's they only + about playin on Thursday, them having the extra time to rest up. I wouldn't be surprised if they held him out for 1 practice this week.

Raiders Still Seeking Answers at QB

The Oakland Raiders hoped they had the quarterback to build the franchise around after Terrelle Pryor dazzled in a victory over the San Diego Chargers 11 weeks ago that showed flashes of what he could bring as a dual-threat quarterback. Instead of building on that strong start, Pryor regressed and eventually lost his starting job to undrafted rookie Matt McGloin. Read More...
