Sucking Cox

Sucking Cox

Like I said no this is not a new X rated movie.  The guy is soft.  He back tracks on everyone and allows catches.  He drops an easy interception.   He tackles like Cromartie and gets burned like Sammy Davis.  He needs to sit the bench and be released after the season ends!

Re: Sucking Cox

Totally agree!! No way he's brought back next season. Salary cap hit be damned, he's a free agent bust.

Umm...slammer, you could have worded the title for this topic just a bit differently though. HaHaHa!!

I'd cut him yesterday. He adds absolutely nothing to this team. Bring in Asomugha or however you spell the dudes name....He can't be any worse.

I was talking to a Dolphins fan all night and the first thing I told him was Cox tackles like he has oil rubbed all over his arms and every time the Chargers were on D he would look at me and say, "wow, that's exactly what it looks like".. Cox needs to go

When you have to give Speedster Brian Hartline a 5-7 yard cushion on every snap, you have no business playing in the NFL at corner.

You noticed that too? I was honestly screaming at my TV. He gave him a huge cushion on the end of the game on 3rd down I believe, that if he had caught it, the game was over. Luckily the pass was errant but needless to say...it didn't matter anyway.

Cox is stealing money at this point. I don't know if he's giving that much space because he is being told to do so or if he just doesn't have confidence....either way, something is very wrong. Another Charger season and another year of disappointment. I hope Spanos had fun  on his helicopter....what a d!#K!

RE: Sucking Cox

The Chargers were seriously better off keeping Quentin Jammer at an affordable price than signing cox to that ridiculous $20 million contract. At least Jammer plays physical and sticks with his man.

We replaced Louis Vasquez with Jeromey Clary.
We replaced Quentin Jammer with Derek Cox.

Both HUGE downgrades that have cost the Chargers some games this year.

This is where I think TT blew it this off season he should have kept a couple more of the old guard then he did.He was way to ambitious in his makeover.Jammer ,Barnes and Phillips could have made a huge impact on this defense this year.I don't mind change but to to it in one sweeping move was not the right move it should have been done in waves season one fix o-line replace one db season two draft a OLB that sort of thing he left us with more holes then we were able to fix in one off season and we are presently paying the price for that mistake

Unbelievable, no? I believe Tommy T cringes every time he thinks of this.

Re: Sucking Cox

As I recall, a lot of us on the board thought the signing of Cox was an upgrade to Jammer. Nobody could have predicted how bad he has been. Crucifying TT for the signing is not fair. While I was on board for bringing Jammer back for depth or moving to SS. And who knew Phillips was going to be as good as he is this year. With Ingram and JJ as their starters going into the season and then English and a draft pick as their backups. They thought they had the depth. While we were all wishing for a quick turned around, the fact of the matter is, that it's going to take a couple years. We all have to remember that this is TT and MM first year at their positions. Lets just hope they learn from their mistakes. And I can guarantee you that it's goin to take longer than 10 games, or one year. AJ got worse and never learned his lesson because he was too damn stubborn.

+1. It's a little unfair to bash Telesco at OLB when Ingram went down and then he signed Freeney and Freeney went down, too.

I heard that Gaither is a limo driver now so we need to give him a call to give Cox a ride out of town.

RE: Sucking Cox

Cox, the CB, didn't suck until this year. He didn't suck until he became a Charger.

Why is that Cox now sucks when Cox didn't suck before?

might be that his body is slowing down due to all his injuries he's suffered before this year. I hope it's just confidence.
