49ers @ Chargers

49ers @ Chargers

Ya, this is usually the worst of the preseason games, but it's a chance to see some guys, go against Harbaugh, and it's my hometown team (though I have always wanted them to lose, even in the Montana days).

Stay healthy Bolts!

Re: 49ers @ Chargers

There was something on Yahoo the other day about how Andy Lee has been working on what he calls a knuckle punt in practice and wants to try it out in a game. It said that Kyle Williams and the rest of the 49ers returners have been struggling to deal with it, but also stated that he wasn't sure if he would be able to get it off consistently in games. I'm curious to see if will try to bust it out today and if Keenan Allen or whoever returns punts for us can handle it.

Knuckle punt? HA! It's pre-season, why not try it.

Speaking of Keenan Allen, I want to see how he plays tonight. I hope he has a solid game, I think there is a big opportunity for him this season to get an opportunity to make a name for himself, he's just going to have to prove early that he's a big time difference maker.

I'll have my eyes on Keiser, and Starks.

I REALLY hope that Starks can earn shake off the "new team" rust, and win a roster spot.  WE NEED DEPTH!

49rs will win due to depth.  Will be watching our secondary, Ladarius Green, Starting OL unit.

Hoping Matthews rests, and our young runners get to show their talent behind the first string OL.

As long as we have Clipboard Jesus, we have a chance.

I'm thinking Gatson makes the team as the 5th CB, and Cromartie goes to PS....he's not ready.

Max Starks just gave up a sack and has not looked good tonight. I have a feeling he could be cut....that would be a shame.

Cant see the game so someone please tell me our 1st team defense is resting comfortably on the sidelines.

Calling Billy Ray Smith a color commentator would be like calling burnt toast a meal.  He has no insights at all.

This just in....

Robert Meachem is being helped off the field!

And now...wait, this just in...they are escorting him into the parking lot.....and they're taking his jersey off his back.....grabbing his playbook....and now they're all waving goodbye to him as he driven away by a cab.

I wish Sorensen could teach Rivers how to throw on the run and to be more elusive in the pocket. It boggles my mind how easy Sorensen makes things look. But i know he's doing it against second and third teamers.

To be fair he's playing 3rd stringers. In a real game the players get much faster.

But yeah I'm a big fan of this kid so far.

Starks and Goodman good as gone.  Seems to me the 49ers tackle much harder and hit our receivers in areas that can easily separate the ball from the player.  #37 has earned a spot on the team.
