Seahawks @ Chargers

Opening a thread on tonight's game.

Weird watching the Browns game. The three sets of downs I'm seeing of Norv's offense went from 1st and 10 to 2nd and 10 or 11. Some things never change.

I always get excited about the opening exhibition game. Then, after watching it, I begin to get bored. Fast. I'm sure that will happen again.

Even though there will be lots of "vanilla" calls and players playing who will be cut, any predictions on which side of the ball will be better tonight?

I think it will be the offense. Still bummed about losing Alexander for the season.

Honestly, against this Seattle defense, I hope Rivers is still healthy after the game. And I know he's only going to play a series or two.
Prospect I'm Championing is Jesse Hahn!!

Re: Seahwaks @ Chargers

   1)  Can our Dee - Fence contain Russell Wilson's running?

   2)  Larry English will tease us with a great game, if he plays, last yr of his contract.

   3)  I am rooting for Mini Gronk # 44, he will make our Roster.  (Fearless Prediction)

   4)  Radio sports guy from Seattle says Marshawn Lynch is in great shape.  Can our first unit DL & Teo/Butler contain him on the first two series?

   5)  Can our OL think as a unit, will Nick Hardwick get brain over load, trying to keep The Castaways functioning to protect Rivers?

   6)  Glad the game is a sellout , better live than tape delay.

   7)  I watched two practices, our Corners looked awful out there!  This was w/Alexander torching them, Keenan Allen limping on every route, what hands though!  I would not suit up Keenan Allen until he is fully healthy!   Good thing the Hawks are thin at WR I believe due to injuries.

  8)  Rooting for Corner Josh Johnson # 36 to make the team as a Free Agent.  I had him as our 6th Round Pick in my Charger Mock Draft.  Wild prediction he will have a pick in tonights game.  Cutting off an inside route, Bam!  Weddle will have a pick too.  Too bad Eric can't cover all 4 secondary spots at once.

  9)  The season leading rusher for The Bolts this year is not on our roster yet.  Wild prediction.  Donald Brown?   cool   Ben Tate?     Shonn Greene?   Maurice Jones-Drew?   Knowshon Moreno?    cool       Roy Helu?    Toby Gerhart?  cool    Jonathan Stewart?   Michael Smith?   Ricky Williams comes home?

 10)  Have no clue what we will do out there, as a Charger buddy of mine said, NO INJURIES!!!!

Re: Seahawks @ Chargers

Well from the old "World League of American Football" back in the early 90's, we had the Raleigh Durham Skyhawks, but I don't remember the SEAHWAKS.

The Skyhawks actually played in Carter-Finley Stadium, where Philip Rivers played all his home games for N. C. State.  They were also coached by former NFL and N. C. State great Roman Gabriel. biggrin

Rivers has compromised and is wearing ONE glove only. Interesting choice.

You have to be happy with that first drive!

Re: Seahawks @ Chargers

4th and inches, McCoy goes for it, Mathews leaps above the fray and gains a bunch of yards.

3rd down, Rivers with pressure takes off running and rumbles close to the chains.

Anyway, a 14-play drive ending in a field goal.

Here comes our defense!

Yeah...but it's pre-season...I never, ever take much stalk into it...unless it's some rookie who is shinning.

So far though....Rivers in command.
