Round 5

Round 5

Well that's it until round 5.  We addressed RT, ILB and threw in a luxury WR pick in there...

Now we don't pick until round 5, and IMO Barrett Jones will be long gone by then.

Personally I'm liking OT Oday Aboushi.  He projects as a GUARD, and I've read that this guy is one tough mother...

If we move Clary inside to RG, and Rinehart starts at LG, Aboushi would push both current starters, and IMO would beat one of them out.

....Really hoping we hear about a McKinnie signing soon.....

Who do you like in the 5th????

there wont be any first year starters from the 5th on so I think it will be a BPA situation.

William Gholston, but I believe he goes next round. I think if Barrett Jones falls toward the end of the 4th, I can see Tolesco pulling the trigger on another trade up for a pick next year. Jones could be another steal.

RE: Round 5

I think Telesco will find at least one starter.  I would like to consider trading a #3 pick next year for san frans two 4 this year.  Looking for players who can shift over to another position might be a smart way to go.  Getting an average OT from college and shifting him to a serviceable guard in the NFL, might be in the works.  In some ways I think we have three number one picks and it cost us  a 1 2 3 and a 4.  Now let's see if they can work some magic in the lower rounds.  AJ's draft would be over at this point.  Rodney Harrison was a late choice, there are diamonds out there, even rubies will do for our depleted roster.

Re: Round 5

OT Jordan Mills, Reid Fragel
CB Rod Sweeting, Terry Hawthorne

Best OLB or NT available are also options.

Re: Round 5

Telesco has to find a cornerback to compete behind Derek Cox, Marcus Gilchrist and Shareece Wright. B.W. Webb (William & Mary), Jordan Poyer (Oregon State) and Terry Hawthorne (Illinois) are all still available. If one of those three falls to San Diego in the fifth round, I hope Telesco pulls the trigger.

Personally, I'm pulling for a Quentin Jammer 1 year deal. But, we better hurry up before he gets signed. He just visited the Redskins a few days ago.....

RE: Round 5

Quality players are still available and likely will be available come round 5. Telesco said that the ideal goal was to hit on every pick you make. So let's see who those 5.6.7 picks are that the Bolts think have that potential to contribute in a positive way.

Hopefully the injury concerns over Barrett Jones will help him slide to us. Crazier things have happened. Let's just hope whom ever we're targeting that the Saints aren't picking before us.

Re: Round 5

Assuming Telesco doesn't make a trade to get back into the 4th round(it will probably take a 3rd round choice in 2014 to do it) my wish list for Round 5 is :
in no particular order
OLB/DE Cornelius Washington-Georgia
OLB john Simon- Ohio St
NT Jesse Williams-Alabama * hopeful he's still on the board by rnd 5
OG Alvin Bailey-Arkansas
DE Alex Okafor-Texas
OT Jordan Mills- Louisiana Tech
OLB Trevardo Williams - UConn
CB BW Webb - William & Mary
S Phillip Thomas - Fresno St

RE: Round 5

Watching Kwame Geathers game tape against the awesome alabama line from this year...I want him.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1ZrFOxQXz0
At about the 1:45 mark he is IMO deserves all the credit for the goal line stop.
He never gets pushed back more than 2 yards, even when being doubleteamed.
At the 3:20 mark...he displays burst and effort I have RARELY seen in a DT, esp of his size. He takes a great angle and runs about 20yrds down field keeping up with the RB.
I dont think there are any questions on his conditioning. Its very apparant that as the game goes on he has worn the Center (Barret Jones) down and drives him into the back field every play, he even drives the Center into the RB a few times on runs. Yes please!

Round 4 is going to be nerve wracking. There is still talent on the board but I get the feeling we are going to be watching it disappear hoping someone lasts to our pick.

I'm pulling for Jammer too. I would like him at SS, but there was talk a couple years ago that he wasn't a good fit.

No problem!

Hey check out the Titans draft so far... Chance Warmack OG,  Justin Hunter WR, Wreh-Wilson CB,......Not bad!

And the Titans offensive line is now Roos, Warmack, Schwenke, Levitre, Stewart.... Chris Johnson better put up 1,500 yards or hit the road.
