TOM TELESCO
It's sounding a lot like Tom Telesco is the new GM of the Chargers. He flew back to SD yesterday for a second interview and has postponed his interview with the NY Jets. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/...g-gm-candidates
I like it. Nothing against Raye, but no one has been knocking on his door to interview him for vacant GM jobs.....and as some here mentioned, we need to change the culture of this franchise and bringing an outsider from a successful franchise is a good way to get that started. Of course, it also could result in Arians being our next head coach.......but that's a another discussion entirely.

RE: TOM TELESCO
He will be announced today as the new GM of the Chargers. He came on late but is very solid as a speaker. Wait till his presser you'll see why they liked him.

The sooner the better. We need the GM set in place and then get the head coach.

Re: TOM TELESCO
The last 24 hours were remarkable. Telesco absolutely knocked their socks off.
Part of my concern was the feet dragging that took place early on not bringing in enough top candidates to interview. I thought they were too settled on Raye, and didn't do their due diligence. This move to Telesco is proof that you need to speak to everybody just in case there's another guy outside of the organization that is a better fit.

Vitrol, Knocked their socks off.
Why does the SD media use the same action words over and over again?

Re: TOM TELESCO
Anyone know about his draft experience????
This draft is going to be KEY in turning our franchise around. This will be a completely different team next year.

First thing the new GM should do is invite Rolf Benirschke to his first press conference, invite him and all alumni back to Thursday practices, and then let Rolf and a few other alumni burn AJ's old couch, you know the one Marty threw across AJ's office, and dance around it chanting "It is, what it is..."

Re: TOM TELESCO
Telesco is a Polian disciple. The Polian system is to draft the BPA and keep your key free agents on the roster. yantha wrote: Anyone know about his draft experience????

Just as long as he doesn't get as big headed as his sifu, he shouldn't have any issues. charger1joe wrote: Telesco is a Polian disciple. The Polian system is to draft the BPA and keep your key free agents on the roster.

RE: TOM TELESCO
I dont know much about him other than his tenure and time in the NFL. He's spent a lot of time with the Colts.
If there is anything I am worried about is that he was director of player personnel the year Manning went down and they went 1-15. But, the next year they bounced back....
Good luck Telesco. Lets see what he does!

RE: TOM TELESCO
I understand the reluctance of fans to trust any Spanos move, but this really is a step for change and away from the status quo that's taken place around here the past decade.

Re: TOM TELESCO
His youth and experience should mesh well with John Spanos and Jimmy Raye. Could be a very good hire.

With Tommy in place, it almost seems like a shoe in for ol' Bruce to become the next HC in SD.
