No Chargers make the Pro Bowl
I think this fact alone is a true testament to the ineptatude of AJ "The Lord of No Rings" Smith.

RE: No Chargers make the Pro Bowl
all good things come to an end sometime, i guarantee an AJ pick will make a pro bowl within the next 2 years
When was the last time we had no pro bowlers?

Good. The Pro Bowl is a joke. Would rather no players get hurt in it even though it's a glorified flag football game.

+1 I've been complaining about AJ for at least 2 to 3 years now. sfchargerfan wrote: I think this fact alone is a true testament to the ineptatude of AJ "The Lord of No Rings" Smith.

RE: No Chargers make the Pro Bowl
Really though, you gotta wonder how Weddle didn't get a nod. And guys like Liuget, Reyes, Butler, and possibly Melvin Ingram could be there in the near future.
The O-line situation this year evaporated any chance of an offensive player had of making it, but I do believe Rivers will make it back, and probably Gates, and dare I say...Denario Alexander if he continues this pace in 2013. Ryan Mathews has also been there before and he's only 25, if we could get some road graders in front of him (and of course stay healthy) he may actually have a chance.
I also wouldn't turn a blind eye on Scifres who is the best punter in football, including Lechler. Roll your eyes if you must, but a punter can be a weapon.

How does the worst team in the NFL get 5 pro bowlers and not 1 for us? I know faves get in and the voting is hog wash but come on people.

Better a fan of a team with no pro bowl players than the fan of a team whose goal is to lose games as opposed to win them. syxwunine wrote:

I assume you're talking about me, and thank you for the compliment. There are to many fans that are stupid to recognize (or accept) when losing a single meaningless game benefits the franchise. A shame really, the instant gratification of beating the Raiders will fade before theses egotistical morons even realize it....and then April will come, and they'll wish we were picking 8 spots earlier so we could lock up our future franchise left tackle, or trade back a couple spots and pick up more draft picks that could turn in to Quentin Jammers replacement, or simply add desperately needed depth that AJ had failed to acquire.

This season has been a dismal failure, but at least we have the draft to look forward to.

RE: No Chargers make the Pro Bowl
I realize he missed a couple of games due to injury, but Butler being snubbed actually bothers me more than Weddle not being named. Gotta' give AJ credit one more time: Butler is a stud and is going to get better. I'm hoping the next regime wants to keep Pagano around. We are headed in the right direction on the D side of the ball. Just need to find a couple of corners and another middle backer.

SYX...regardless of how the fans feel or think...the players will play to win. Some maybe more than others, but none will be worrying about how the outcome of the game affects the teams draft position. As most fans are too emotionally connected to do anything BUT cheer for the win...that's what they will do. Raiders or not. So the fans and the players will be together on that point and the bottom line is not where a team selects...but how well. The Chargers could have the 2nd overall pick but if they do not choose wisely they'll have spit! And we have done that once before.

I don't think anybody wants the Chargers to try to lose. I just wouldn't be too upset if they did.
