Denver.....The Line In The Sand! Predictions???

Denver.....The Line In The Sand! Predictions???

Win in Denver, and some how, some way the Chargers are still in the running, but barely.

Lose and Norv Turner should be fired the next day.

Denver's game is a definitive game for this franchise. It's so hard as a fan because of course I want the team to win, but if they lose, I could be done with Norv and AJ which in itself will feel like I have won something.

I think Denver has the momentum and unfortunately Rivers has lost his.

I think the Chargers will fight valiantly but in the end I see a 31-20 game with the Broncos winning...and Norv fired the next day.

Anyone want to make a prediction?

This is it exactly. Lose in Denver and the season is done.

Win and we are back in the running with a lot of work to do.

Is Gaither playing? If so, we have a chance to give Rivers that extra second which gives us a chance to win.

Because this team isnt interested in winning. They just say they are. Its the same BS out of their HC's mouth every week after a loss and every week their Public Relations team goes to work. Acees review of the Bucs game for instance. We should think this team can pull off a playoff spot because they looked good against Denver before being worked for 35 points in the second half and they looked good in spots during the Bucs. WOW.

It's their jobs. I get it. They arent looking through the same lenses we are. They are paid to make everything look better than it is. They know full well the direction of the team and what will take place when this team is eliminated. NOTHING. If there was, they would say it. Instead they are still trying to sell you crap in a nice gift basket.

Is anybody really paying attention around here? Listen to what they are saying. It's all street hustle.

a lil melodramatic dont you think? we did look fantastic yesterday until Corey Lynch and Philip Rivers had brain farts

defensively we could do better to get to the QB, but when it mattered the Defense pulled thru to give the Offense a chance to win

we are a really good team, the only person letting this team down is Rivers

More hustle from the PR team.

Tell me "regular fan", when will you draw the line? 7-9? 8-8?

Lets hear it! Lets hear where Kiwi finally says enough is enough. This will be gold.

Denver 89 - Bolts 6

with 12 of those points from the Denver offense.  You figure out the rest banghead.

More than likely, Doom is out for the Broncos. The Defense still hasn't figured out how to cover TEs (Olson last game, the Pats TEs), so Gates could have a big e provided the PR does not get killed in the pocket. Our run D can be exploited. However, Manning seems to be on a mission from God and is playing damned well. This could be a close game. I still give the Broncos the win only because of momentum. Our s is moving forward, while the Chargers is moving backward.

Re: Denver.....The Line In The Sand! Predictions???

if we come to play and dont make stupid mistakes, we can hang with them and i think we can win a close one. If not, Manning will blow us away and Norv and AJ should be fired immeadiatly and fly economy class home.

This is defining game for Phil, these are the type of games in the past that he would step up for, we need the Rivers of old. If he craps the bed and we get blown out, i say Coach B should sit him for the first half of the next game. That tells the team that EVERYONE will be held accountable now Norv is gone, and hopefully lights a fire under his ass.

If we get blown out, and Norv still has a job, then we will never get a decent coach here next year because they'd know Spanos is gutless......

You are stating the obvious in your post up there. The writers ARE paid to point out the positive......now what? Are you saying most of us don't know that?

I don't understand what you are trying to point out here.
What exactly are you asking Chargersfans to do here? Give up, although we still have a chance to go to the playoffs?
I can only speak for myself, but I am indeed looking forward seeing the Chargers play every week until we are eliminated from the playoffs. I can assure you it's NOT because of Norv's speeches or Acee's articles.....

Eh, more likely he'll throw two picks (or three) in the fourth quarter.  That seems to be his new legacy.

We can hang with 'em as we have shown. The weather here in Colorado is really nice right now, but who knows about Sunday and Peyton is not great in bad conditions. If Gaither plays, PR and Gates should have a good day. I don't see either team's running game being too big. As always it will come down to turnovers. If TOs are even or plus or minus 1, it will be close. I will predict 35-27 Donks. As far as Turner. He will be here 'til seasons end pretty much regardless.

We have a chance to win but I am not optimistic.  Norv will not be fired either way.  A loss here means we would have to run the table to get a wild card bid which is far fetched.

Sounds to me like the game for you is purely entertainment. No problem with that. To each their own! cheers.gif

I disagree with this. The Chargers are a mediocre football team. AJ Smith has let too much talent walk away without getting anything in return. I know there's a lot of anti-Norv sentiment on this board. For the record, I was very disappointed in Marty's firing and especially Norv's hiring when it happened. However, I've come to respect Norv over the years as a playcaller and offensive schemer.

The same cannot be said of AJ Smith. I'll give him credit for recently assembling a young and exciting front seven on defense. His inability to shore up a constantly leaky secondary is a big problem. He's swung and missed on corners too many times. The offensive line is and has been problematic. It's inexcusable to still have Jerome Clary as the starter at RT. And his scorched earth policy regarding quality players (and fan favorites I might add) leaves us with nothing but a bad taste in our collective mouths when guys walk for no compensation.

I don't think there's a coach in the league that would get much more out of our offense than Norv has in all honestly. The personnel are simply not there.

So it's clear, I'm not advocating for Norv here. I just think that this is and has been AJs team and Norv was his hire when he couldn't play nice with a 14-2 coach. If anyone needs to go midseason, it's AJ Smith. If he gets to pick another coach instead of packing his bags, it will be a travesty.

I do think we'll have Norv until the end of the year since we have no one else with offensive playcalling experience on our staff.
