U-T hilarity
Nick Canepa wrote this sentence:
"As it is, Turner knows more about quarterbacks and their protection than any person on the planet."
Man, I miss Tim Sullivan.

Man, I miss Tim Sullivan. I know someone who worked at the UT for awhile. They said Canepa sits on his duff all day just puffing away on cigars. They said he's a real winner....They guy is a hack and he's trying keep his job with Papa Doug Manchester, so he writes what he thinks will please his master. No integrity at all. The problem is the UT....I cancelled a long time ago, I suggest anyone on here who has a subscription do the same.

RE: U-T hilarity
I think he does know more about QBs and is a great developer of them but what he does not know much about is being a head coach.

If he is so great, then why did Alex Smith play so poorly under his tutelage, and then under Jim Harbaugh, in just one strike shorten off-season, improve dramatically? Why has Rivers gotten progressively worse under his tutelage? How about when Norv was with the Raiders and Redskins? Why did his QBs play so poorly? See Norv gets some type of "He's An Offensive Genius" Card because he was the OC for the Cowboys back in the 90s when they had one of the best offensive lines ever in football with HOF running back, QB, WR and TE. I could have been calling plays back then, and I would have been called a genius too. Norv made his name with the Cowboys and since then has done nothing but been a failure IMHO. So when the stats and evidence speak for themselves, why does this guy get the props he does? I have watched every Chargers game pretty much under Norv, and I have never seen such a predictable, non-creative, game planner in my entire life. Norv can't make in game-changes to save his life and is horrible under pressure. So honestly, I don't get it and Canepa is full of BS!

RE: U-T hilarity
My earlier response was a joke. I believe that he really knows QBs and tries to scheme according to our o-line shortcoming and the lack of weapons. But the time for any blatant a**-kissing by some supposed impartial beat writing stooge has long passed.

RE: U-T hilarity
I said this a couple days ago Turners a great OC he just gets in over his head when trying to be a HC.I think hes not decisive enough to call all the shots and it shows in how we run a two minute U how we are in clock management and how he gets bogged down once in the red zone always thinking about three instead of trying all out for seven

wait didnt Alex Smith make a big improvement from his rookie year under Norv? lets not rewrite history to paint an even more uglier picture of Norv

RE: U-T hilarity
I could be wrong (to lazy to look it up), but the way I remember it was he as showing good improvement until Norv left, and then he went through a number of OCs and HCs and regressed to the point that there was talk that the Niners were gonna give up on him. There was even talk here about bringing him in as Rivers' backup.

RE: U-T hilarity
He was consider a bust until Harbaugh. He showed some signs of improving but look at his numbers, nothing to write home about, especially for a top pick in the draft. Harbaugh has been the only one to bring this kid along, where he can win games. If I am wrong, please, let me know where....Anyway, the point is...Norv is over-rated big time.

He was making strides, not worthy of a #1 pick, but making strides nonetheless until Norv left. Then that was the excuse for his regression. He was left for dead until Harbaugh came along now he's an elite game manager. And yes Norv is over rated. He was a genius when he had Aikman, much the same way Shanahan was a genius when he had Elway and Montana, or Phil Jackson when he had Jordan, Shaq, Kobe etc.

RE: U-T hilarity
If it weren't for his days in dallas, with a team full of high draft picks, a monster O line, and JJ pumping them up,(meaning my high school coach would have done well there) none of us would have ever had to deal with him.
Just one opinion

Yep, this is correct. Not to mention that under Norv compared to being under Harbaugh for Smith, there is no comparison, but hey, let's not rewrite history to paint an even more uglier picture of Norv...cause Norv does a good enough job by himself.
