Nick Marshall will play.

Posted: 8/26/2014 1:50 PM

Nick Marshall will play.

So read on Twitter about this and just makes me wonder if this had happened at Arkansas what the punishment would be. Seems Ole Gus only cares about winning and making himself look good rather than bettering his players.

He won't start.  I can't remember any player at any school receiving any more for receiving a ticket.

It said he won't start, but will play, how much Gus wasn't willing to say how much, but I bet it depends on the scoreboard.

You know he failed a drug test. I don't know what their policy is at au, but you know it's a slap on the wrist.

That's my point exactly. I wonder how CBB would handle it, if it would be an automatic dismissal, game suspension etc. Just proves that Gus don't care about his players and their character, only winning.

I really don't think so.  I believe Gus has a set schedule.  Now if thats a couple of plays,  series,  or half, nobody has any ideas.

I doubt it matters much. Jeremy Johnosn is pretty good. 29-41 passing career and Alabama Mr. Football in high school.

At least we have a defensive coordinator who will try to put some  pressure on the new quarterback.

I think he will play a good bit. I also think he will put up Heisman type numbers this year. Our backup, Jeremy Johnson, is a good enough QB to win the SEC with. I think he will play well against the Hawgs. The kid is really good, but I believe CGM will want to run more of a read zone, and play action off of it to create big plays in the passing game. Johnson's offense will be more of an I formation (out of the shotgun) with play action and more intermediate routes. Johnson will still run the read, but he doesn't have the 4.4 speed that Marshall has.

I don't know, nor do I care how CBB would handle this issue, though one day I am sure we will see, as every college football team is made up of college kids who do stupid selfish things.

BTW: I do not believe Marshall failed a drug test. He probably would have, but I have not heard he was given one after his citation.

Not worried about Nick Marshall

I just hope Anthony Swain doesn't suffer another career threatening knee injury like he did last season against the Hogs.wink

Nick was issued a citation for windows being too dark and for possessing a LEGAL amount of weed, less than 1/4 oz. He was determined not to be under the influence and therefore was not arrested. Had he been arrested for being under the influence, Nick would be required to sit 6 games, by university policy. BTW, what is the policy at Arky for players like Matt Jones? I can't remember, did he ever sit?

Not sure I'd jump to that conclusion.  Don't know what other disciplinary actions have been taken.

Oh it was only a knee injury. I thought he was shot by a sniper. I was worried. Glad he's ok.

No such thing in Georgia.  If it was legal, why was he cited?

So he's just riding someone around while they smoke it? Don't think so....a bird of a feather.
