Did you see SEC show on espn

Did you see SEC show on espn

4 guys talking about upcoming season.  Tim Tebow says Brandon Allen needs to improve, but not have to be great for Hogs to improve a lot.  He was taken to task by Paul something, (Alabama fan) and Hogs will not win this year.

The Black man, I should know him, but can not think of his name said any team with the running backs like ARkansas can not be counted out.

So, glad TT stood up for Hogs.  (he did not say will win a lot, but be improved)  He said what I have said, almost beating LSU is important.

I still say it, Hogs 27      Auburn  14  (or something like that)

Lance, I agree with your score prediction and with everyone that says we'll be improved this year. With improvement and possibly catching a few breaks, we'll capture some Ws. I have the same feelings about this game as I did when Holts and the '77 team thumped OU.... I know, it doesn't make any more sense now then it did back then...just a feeling. Improved passing game, great running attack, and an improved secondary......guess we'll see.

Our O-Line is too big this year to give up possessions quickly and let Auburn dominate the ball like they did most of last year . . . I say Hawgs by 10 biggrin

and...do we really know how good Auburn is?  Yes, they made to the NC, but they caught some huge breaks and lost some key players.  I still think they were playing above their heads and I think they are overrated this year too.  If the players on their roster were so good, why weren't they ranked at the beginning of last year, they still have some of those players.  We played them tough last year and I know we are better, guess I'll find out how much better or the same, Auburn is.

I just hope some of you aren't setting your expectations such that you are upset when they don't come to fruition.

We aren't AU of 2013.

Re: Did you see SEC show on espn

Everyone talking about how good AUB is and expects us to get spanked. I'll say this again, four dropped TD's was why we lost, they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. Same with LSU. Now I expect to go 3-1 OOC (TT loss, but I can see with a lucky bounce winning and being 4-0 in non-con). In conference, I see wins against AUB, aTm, and LSU (we weren't good enough to be their "rivals" and it'll piss some of the guys off). Those were games we should have won last year, but unlucky bounces plus all three of those teams may have lost more than they gained. I also see potential with games against MSU, Ole Piss, and Missery. My prediction is 6-6 (and that will take him off the hot seat). With some breaks I can see 8 wins, and if we catch all the breaks I can see 10. 8 or more and CBB will be impossible to get rid of, which will be a HUGE mistake.

Edit: I think our returning talent was good enough to win last year and we didn't catch a break. Winning 10 games would not shock me, but my prediction isn't based on us improving, it's based on catching the breaks instead of the other team catching them, and the fact other teams lost key contributors: I.e aTm (Manziel and Evans), AUB (Tre Mason, think he was more important than even the AUB fans realize).

I agree with your assessment on Aub and LSU last year; now whether we beat Aub this year (I hope so).  I also see wins against Texas A&M, Missouri, Miss St and possibly LSU.  I do however, think we will beat Texas Tech. I stand by 6-6, but I can see us winning 7 or 8...anything higher than that is wishful thinking.  I do disagree that it would be a huge mistake to keep CBB at this point, everything he's done is leading us in the right direction.  Lastly, my prediction is based on us getting better and our players and coaches being in their second season together.

Re: Did you see SEC show on espn

CBB is a mistake, he was a mistake the minute he talked to Long. He has done nothing to prove to me he is a coach. What he has done is downgrade our frustrated fanbase, blame players, then former coaches, trample on our traditions (the Hog call isn't good enough we need to do something to get the students more involved). Hello win some games. You guys continuing to support him makes no sense to me, maybe y'all are brainwashed.

As for your prediction based on our improvement, you have no idea whether we have improved or not. As a matter of fact the people who have been watching practice haven't said we've improved. Only the very coaching staff that has backed CBB and his disrespect toward Razorback nation. Any success and he stays here longer. That's going to cause more of a fracture in our fanbase. There are people on here who have heard the same comments I have and say that's not what he meant, there is also people on here who agree with me, they're just not willing to say it out loud, because of the "numb-nut" comments. It doesn't bother me and I like to argue, but you'll hear more and more about it if he starts losing. If he wins it'll get worse. Same thing occurred during the Malzahn-Nutt riff. If Nutt would have won the NC the following year, no one would have taken Malzahn's side. Same with Nolan, as much as we like him and cheer him, and agree he deserves the accolades he is now receiving, when he left he needed to go. He was complaining about the UofA, the fans (some are indeed numb-nuts), and he was complaining about the sudden revival of football fans because of what HDN was doing. Sorry for some of you, "Nolan never did nothin wrong crowd" but that's what he did. CBB will do the same thing, especially if CMA goes to the Final Four like I believe, and the FB teams struggles again. He will start saying things like, "the football fans need to start being more supportive like the BBall fans." Problem is many on here will agree, only problem with that is it's the same fans.

I don't think this is really baked's honest opinion.  I think it is a sock puppet opinion, but he forgot to use another ID.

It is important to smile while reading it. biggrin

If I made the exact opposite of that post on Aubby's "no tolerance" board, how long would it take for me to be banned?  Oh the hypocrisy.

I certainly don't hold any viscerol (SIC) dislike for CBB, but I was underwhelmed by his hire.  As such, he probably has a higher hurdle to clear for me to see him as successful.  I guess rather than the home run hire that we all predicted, to me, he seemed like a solid double advancing to 3rd on a throwing error type hire.  So far though, I think he has done a good job of making the program relevant.  At least in the minds of recruits.  He's going to have to shock the world to impress many fans and pundits though.  But I'm pleasantly surprised so far and am on board at least until he has a valid chance to succeed (i.e. more than 2 years).

Huh- I've said to you and on here many times that I was not "blown away" by the CBB hire.    I still don't know if he is a good fit.  But unlike you, I don't root for his failure nor do I believe that I know he'll fail here.   Unlike you, I am giving him a chance to do his job before having made up my mind about him.  And unlike you, I don't pretend to know more about recruiting, coaching, and implementation of college football than does the staff of our D-1 program.
