I know predictions don't matter but this one is interesting

If this happens will Coach B be on the hot seat?

At this point in the season, predictions are just that, predictions.  We all have opinions and we know what that indicates.  Let's see what happens when the flag is dropped.  Go Hogs.

Man. That is not a good prediction.
I gotta say if that happens, I can't help but think he would be on the hot seat. I hope he is not! But I think he would be.
Two straight seasons of going 0-fer in the sec would not be very good....to say the least.

What we need is consistency in recruiting, coaching and philosophy.
That is the way we are going to rebuild what is broken.

Here's to hoping the Hogs turn things around now.

All the writer did was predict an exact replica of last season, 12 games out of 12, replacing a loss to Rutgers with a loss to Texas Tech.  Go back through history and check how many times that has happened. A prediction of 2-10 would have at least shown some thought went into it.

I think it's possible, but worst case scenario and highly unlikely. I think we win 4 or 5 and if we get lucky in a game, 6. If he goes 3-9 though, yeah, CBB will be feeling the hot seat.

We all gotta get over it. Don't expect much in 2014. 2015 will be really good though. His seat will get warm, but he`ll be fine.

Expectation is our greatest enemy at this stage.  That said, I think it is fair to use last year as the basement.

We lost two games that should have been victories, without question, in Rutgers and LSU.

Flip one more, and we are in a bowl game. I do not expect much more, given the games we have on the road.

It's fine to hope for more, but don't act all twisted up and distressed if we only win 5 or 6 games.

Bielema will be on the hot seat of some if we lose at Auburn and at Texas Tech.  That's just life in the Great State of Arkansas.

One thing should be for sure...we can't get any worse than last year.  Even if we lose to Texas Tech and don't win any SEC games, our record will be the same as last year and there's no way we are a worse team than last year (talent wise).  I think we win all of our out of conference games including Texas Tech and we win at least 2 SEC (maybe 3) (Texas A&M, Miss St, Missouri) (and Georgia and LSU are beatable) games.  I think we make a lower tier bowl game with 6/7 wins, CBB will remain as coach, and we will be even better (see current 2015 recruiting class) the year after.

I hope this team surprises me but I gotta be honest, these predictions of 7-8 wins are nothing but unabashed optimism. There is nothing wrong with that unless it creates unrealistic expectations. I'm not saying this team can't win 7-8 and surprise us but predicting it is nothing short of silly, for good reasons, but silly nonetheless.

Go Hogs.

I doubt that this prediction comes true.  Most don't so I'm not buying it in its entirety.  Also not buying the 8 win prediction either.

But, if this prediction does come to fruition, yes, he will be on the hot seat.  It will be so hot, he might even try to find a new job on his own.  The fans will burn his likeness in effigy.  And that's just the fans on the Hawg Lounge.  There will be much gnashing of teeth and seeing red.

1.  That is what I am predicting at this point.
2.  Hot seat?  Kind of.  But it wouldn't be so hot that he had to win 8 or 9 games next year to save his job, I think he would need to win at least 6 next year and show improvement.
3. I hope I am wrong about 3-9.  Would love to be.
4. I have never hidden the fact that I didn't want BP fired, and I didn't like the BB hire.  (My dislike for the BB hire was not because I didn't want BP fired, once that was done we had to hire someone and I would have supported the "right" hire, I just didn't think BB was it).  That all said, my prediction isn't based on not liking BB.  I want him to win and win big and prove me wrong (like I am a lot of the time).

I'm right there with you on 1, 3, and 4.  On 2, I disagree somewhat in that back to back 0-8 conference seasons wouldn't make him very long for this job.  Pun intended.

To answer your question, of course another 0-8 SEC campaign would put Bielema on the hot seat -- meaning he better not have three years without winning an SEC game. But it won't get him fired at the end of 2014. If we haven't won more than one SEC game by the end of 2015, I'll be leading the lynch mob. Spiritually, anyway. But I don't think that will happen.

This team will win no less than zero games and no more than 15. Take that to the bank.

Optimism and criticism is what keeps this board so entertaining.
I admit I swing the way of optimism when it comes the thy beloved Hogs.

I can respect that and for the most part I am too.   But I am very cautious about making large win predictions for the Hogs in 2014.

no football knowledge

to simply say we will do what we did last year is lazy.  It will take some research on the Hogs to see what might be better or worse.

At the very least, we will win 6

Re: I know predictions don't matter but this one is interesting

I got ya, I too am always optimistic, but I really try to base my predictions on logic!  I base my predictions on what I saw last year and the talent I feel we have.  First, seriously, if I was going to bet, I say we get 6 wins, but I can see us beating another SEC team, so to me 7 is a possibility and here's why.  Best RBs in the SEC, one of the best offensive lines, great TE, improved WRs, better LBs, 2d year system, Philon and Flowers have more experience, good games against tough teams at the end of last season (we never gave up), and last but not least...our QB has another year under his belt, he can't get worse, therefore he'll be better...right bakedog?

Gee, why does everyone want to bury this coach? I would not be surprised with 3-9 or 4-8; I would not be surprised with better. Anyone who wants to fire him because of won-loss record in year two is very premature unless the team displays a significant decline from last year, which I don't believe will happen. Most football experts I have read feel that he deserves a 5 year chance to become competitive as long as he continues to show improvement.

Because too many fans simply look at the win/loss record and not what goes on behind the scenes.  Not sure if they are capable or just refuse to do it.  Anyone in their right mind should be able to tell that CBB is doing a a good job and there's no reason to beleive we won't improve on last year's record (it shouldn't be hard).
