66--1 are the odds in Vegas for Hogs

66--1 are the odds in Vegas for Hogs

winning SEC Championship.

Boy, that is bleak.

I know I am a homer, and not an expert on football like espn requires of their commentators, but I think a lot of people will be shocked, starting in the Auburn game.

It will be close, and we might win.

The LSU loss last year is important. We could have and should have won that game.  We are going to be a lot better. Shockingly better.

I am not saying we win NC.  But we will beat a couple of teams the experts said we could NOT beat.

I am convinced CBB knows what he is doing.

Everyone else is going by last year, they have not factored in new people, coaches, and better coached (on D) and more mature players all around.

Hunter Henry, Alex Collins, K. Marshall may be legit All-Americans.

The Rodney Dangerfield of QB's will earn respect nationally.

This team will be light years ahead of last year.

One key will be can we stay healthy as the depth is not as great as the big boys

Defense will be key as I really believe the offense will score on average approx 10 more points per game

Yea we won't win the conference, but middle of the pack in the west at the end of the year and a decent bowl game will surprise many of the experts. This running attack will be very entertaining and our tight ends and WR's will shock a few teams.......the healed BA has a point to prove and will get the ball to his playmakers, which are considerable in this offense- Collins, Williams, Marshall, Henry, Derby, Cornelius, Wilson, Hatcher, Hollister, Hawkins, Morgan...

I didn't know there were 67 teams in the SEC, seems it should be 13 -1

Look, no offense but LSU was at its' own 1 yard line with the startingWR(Odell Beckham), the starting Center and a starting Tackle out of the game and  with a RS Freshman at QB with little time left in the game. What happened then?

LSU went on a 99 yard TD drive to win the game and ended the game by causing an Arkansas fumble and LSU had the ball deep in Arkansas territory and ran out the clock. How you translate that situation into could have and should have WON the game is a little ridiculous and denies what actually took place.

Last year's LSU game does highlight what the hogs need most to improve. Defense. Yes the OLine and RBs are important, you have to score to win. But defense wins championships. Period. We gotta start hitting and hitting so hard, that other teams feel the hits to the bone.

I agree there are some teams we will beat this year, that we should have beat last year as well. As for winning the SEC championship, I don't think we will be that improved for at least a few years (IMO at least another coach). As for the players you mentioned, I agree I see AA candidates at several positions. I'll disagree with Rodney.

Sorry, but that loss was not on the defense. You forget AR had the ball twice in the 4th with a chance to run off time and had two three and outs. The defense held the first time, but bad playcalling on those drives were the coaches fault. You can put the spin on ot any way you want, but LSU didn't beat AR last year, AR beat themselves.

Betting against the Hogs and collecting $1 for $66 after the SECCG in 4 months, would be about a 4.5% annual rate of return.

Meanwhile, a 3-month CD is paying 0.4 %.

Hmmm.

Re: 66--1 are the odds in Vegas for Hogs

Those odds are way to low, IMO.  Now, I admit I am not a BB fan.  That said, I hope I am wrong about him and in a few years I can say "gee, I was so wrong."  But I can't see even the biggest BB supporter thinking we have any chance of winning the SEC title this year.  We had the number 5 team in the USA a few years ago and couldn't even get to the SECCG.  We have been in the SEC for 20+ years and came somewhat close once.  This year?  NO WAY IN HECK.  The odds honestly should be well over 1000 to 1.

Now, if you think BB is in fact the answer, then the odds of the Hogs winning the SECC sometime in the next 5 years?  Different question.  This year?  Get real.

Lance, I hope you are right.  I don't see it.  I am going with 3-9, 0-8 in SEC.  Would LOVE to be wrong and will not hide if I am (and will not gloat if I am right, no one, I repeat, NO ONE, hopes I am way off base more than I do.)

Re: 66--1 are the odds in Vegas for Hogs

If Arkansas did this or did that. Saying Arkansas went 3 3 & out
as if Arkansas was the only team on the field and the outcome
was solely decided by what Arkansas did? Then who was
responsible for LSU going on a 99 yard game winning drive
with a fresman qb and 4 starters out? Who was responsible
for LSU taking the ball away from the Arkansas qb and ending
the game witj LSU in posession deep in Arkansas territory?
I guess LSU just got breaks because of what Arkansas did?
What a scenario that is. LOL.

The reason your QB was out was because we knocked him out don't act you just brought him in! Not saying we should of won but it should not of been that close at your place no less we played you toe to toe. If you want to talk about injuries we got stories to tell you all day.
