Re: Great article on Beliema

Auburn fan here. I agree - this is a great article. I enjoy reading all of Lars Anderson's articles. All of his article are long, but I never lose interest to the very end.

Bielema is a good coach and I think will be successful at Arkansas if given time. After Auburn's year last year, you never know, it may come sooner than expected. Gus had the advantage of having a roster full of players recruited to run his offense. Sounds like Bielema himself believes it may take a few more years to get there, but doesn't doubt he will.

Good luck on your season (except first game)!

A very good read.  I'm willing to wait  I really like Beilema.  Granted, I'd like to see success now, but I just like what the guy is trying to do here at Arkansas.

Re: Great article on Beliema

I enjoyed the article.  It was a very good retrospective.

Then I made the mistake of reading the comments.  Lo and behold, mixed in among the shots from OSU fans and the Wisconsin people whom we fully expect to try and diminish our coach's credentials, there's a comment from "Wayne," who calls himself a Hog fan and notes that Bielema may do OK if he would "keep his mouth shut" and put his focus on the field.

I think Hog fans who make public comments like that at this stage have a mental problem of some sort. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

If this were a business, I'd fire them for insubordination and conduct detrimental to morale. ohlord

CBB is leading by example, not cussing the kids out and leading with fear. Note that GPA rising and the off field trouble dropping. The team is investing serious effort for this big ugly from the hog farm right now. They believe. Will it translate into success in the SEC west? Maybe not soon and maybe not every year, but we will be respectable again and once the next Steve Atwater or Kenoy Kennedy shows up, we will be remembered the following Sunday in the bump and bruises other teams feel.

It was a nice article - very warm and fuzzy.  Unfortunately, my opinion of whether he is a good fit for our program will not change until our win loss record changes drastically.  I sincerely hope my opinion changes soon.

Re: Also a good read about Bielema :)

It says something about my recent mental state that it took me this long to poke fun at HnD for his creative approach to the spelling of our head Coach's last name.

I misspelled it almost every time I typed it, until i realized that the first part followed the old "i before e" rule.  Maybe we should sticky that up next to the "How to pronounce Bielema post." cool

Or we could just call him Coach B for short.

I ran into Barry Lunney Jr a month ago at the First of NWA facility and he called him simply "Coach B".

It's a good article, and I think CBB will get things turned around. This year will be much better, and 2015 should be a lot of fun.
