The Hawg Lounge

I thought it was just comatose but I was wrong, its graveyard dead.

There's posts from the first part of May that are still on page one.  Heck, a goofy slowBOB post I made several weeks ago still shows up at the bottom of the page.  I didn't know this board had become a breeding ground for Zombies.  I guess its The Time of the Season

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about

The only thing going on these days are things that would lead to board meltdowns.  I love a good meltdown, but spending too much time on controversial topics in the Hawg Lounge  detracts from my overall goal of "winning the internet." eek

I just finished posting on a site where the page refreshes periodically and destroys the part that has been typed so far. After that happened twice, I contented myself by filing a complaint with the Church Lady in charge of human resources.

I have a source that told me something huge is just around the corner regarding a 5 star defensive player.  As the announcement approaches, I'll have more that I can release.  For now, you should just talk about it.

Well, it is hot in here Ricky.

That is funny.  At times your posts tend to get a little verbose.....so I keep replaying this in my mind.

Re: The Hawg Lounge

That's why everyone is jumping on the soccer bandwagon; nothing else is going on.  I love watching the USA in sports but I'm a bit surprised how people are gathering in huge crowds, painting their faces and waving the American flag.  I like it, just surprised but now that it's over, you won't hear about soccer again for 4 years.  Now, if college football or the NFL was going on right now, I think the popularity would've been a lot less, kind of like this lounge...nothing really going on worth mentioning.  Now, that soccer is in the lime light, I think they need to implement a 3pt shot.

Nope.  Not him.  This kid is one of the best in the country and he is set to "flip" to Arkansas soon.  Within a day or two.
Again, I can't reveal my sources, but this will be HUGE news for Arkansas.

The kid I'm talking about is 6'5" runs a 3.8  backwards 40 and has 13' long  arms and 4 ft hands.  All I can tell you is his last name is Holmes.

Re: The Hawg Lounge

In Bout 64 days that will all change. Nice cushy opening tune up game. Defending SEC champion and National runner up. Let me get warmed up.

What is Long thinking. He needs to man up and stand up to the SEC for messing with our schedule.

I saw this kid play in high school. He's lost out there. Peavy needs to start.

I told you he wasn't an SEC coach. He thinks he can small ball run up the middle three times all he wants and it's not going to work. Bring back Houston Nutt and Reggie Fish.

I can't believe you people. It's not like we haven't lost 9 games two years in a row before. If you're going to be negative and turn on the program go root for ASU (good luck in the Liberty Bowl Wolves).

Good workout. Getting strong for the season.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Re: The Hawg Lounge

We are going to need some of that ole time religion when we take the field this fall.  We may be somewhat improved but if we believe what we read about everyone else they are doing much better.  Even those that seem to be down a little from previous years supposedly have enough left in the tank to carry them quite well until their new troops mature.

Call it religion, inspiration, or whatever we are going to need a team of players that excel and play well above what would be expected from them in normal situations if we are to achieve any level of respect this coming football season.  How do we always seem to have if not the most demanding schedule one of those at the top and I continue to see on here where some fan always wants to see us improve on the competition we play.  What?  We need some nice breaks in the scheduling more like some of the others have that are on our schedule.

It used to be that we started off with a few out of conference teams to warm up on and then we got into the meat of the season in October and November.  Now we start off the season with teams fresh off playing in the national title game!!!  Why not take them on later in the season when we have sharpened our knives a bit?

Yep, we need to find some ole time religion somewhere and find it quick.....

I feel like coach B  deserves at least  another year, maybe even two to get acclimated to the SEC (if he can). I sent  out  an early quote last year that still stands true today and that is basically this.... Coach B's  smash mouth run it down the hill type of offense he WAS claiming  for the RAZORBACKS in '13  was  about 10 years too late for the SEC. We possibly still need a fresh, young and inventive mind to at least be our OC.       W P S

With his huge buyouts for the next few years we really have no choice in the matter...

You don't think I've recognized this? I stopped disagreeing with baked long ago so that I could later take credit for agreeing with his occasional insights.  His percentage might not be that impressive, but when he strikes the mark, he's usually closest to the pin.

I also realized that he sometimes argues a position that he believes belongs to others, even though he may not agree with it personally.  I can't tell you how long and hard I debated his position on certain issues, only to find out he was actually stating what he believed to be the true problem: that the position was shared by a significant segment of the fan base.

If you ever see me arguing somebody else's position, you can be assured that  I'm being paid, or at least receiving a perquisite of some sort.

I had never experienced a page refresh making the text disappear in the middle of a post.  The first time, I thought I had made an error of some sort.

After the second time, I considered the content of my post and the proclivities of the website I was visiting.  I suddenly had an image of a real time moderator making my posts disappear before they ever saw the light of day.

I must say, however, that the experience was a good exercise in getting to the point. cool

Well, here in Virginia, Hurricane Arthur battered us with winds up to 20 mph last night and rain pelted down, leaving some raindrop spots in the pollen on the grill cover. There are some leaves down in the yard. But we will rebuild.
