Since I've been gone
You guys have lost your minds.
1. AR basketball is not a LOCK for the NIT, this was from the majority of "brackatologists". For AR to make the NIT they must win all remaining home games and beat LSU. They also have to win one in the SEC tourney.
To make the Big Dance win all home, LSU and make it to the finals of the SEC tourney. Win the SEC tourney, easiest way. Win all home, beat LSU and Mizzou, and make it to the semi's of the SEC tourney. There was two others but it involved beating Fl. As we know that didn't occur.
2. Mickelson, best comment ever on this board, he's too slow to play the 5, he needs to move back to the wing. When I read that I laughed until I cried, if he's slow at the 5 why on earth would you put him on the wing. Fact is he doesn't fit CMA's style, someone said they'd like him to go to Butler, I think that would be a great move by him, he'd have a better chance of becoming a NBA talent, than in CMA's system. Sorry to those of you who love the kid, he won't ever see the floor next year if he stays.
3. BJ and Powell, regardless of what any of you think, they're gone. Both are picked mid-first to mid-second. This years class is weak, if they return they could become better and not get drafted. Plus Tevin Mitchell, Ky Madden, and BJ are friends. Mitchell tweeted during the Fl game, My boy BJ will be in the NBA next year believe that. He since has deleted the post, but I think that pretty much says where BJ is at.
4. The diamond Hawgs lost. Needed that. Hearing interviews, they were a little too overconfident and I got the notion they thought teams would roll over for them, I think it was a great wake up call.
5. The Men's and Women's track team won the SEC tourney, so did the hockey team. WPS
On a personal note, there have been a lot of sightings of Bigfoot in the area I live in, I've actually got to investigate, seems like there is more sightings when I get drunk and strip down naked and do the Harlem shake. 😜

Re: Since I've been gone
If we finish at .500 or better in the SEC and over .500 overall, we will be in the NIT. That's assuming we don't make in to the NCAA.

Re: Since I've been gone
Incorrect, the NIT and NCAA both look at road/neutral site wins. We have 1. Also it depends on other bubble teams and any conf cinderellas. For example GA, has played road games extremely close, they should have won at Mizzou and BWA. On neutral court they may actually win. Lets say they win the SEC tourney, now Fl has to take an at large. That knocks off a bubble team, lets say its Bama, Bama gets selected to the NIT which knocks us out. Just an example, but road wins matter for both, 1 will not get us in.

since BJ and Kye are buddies do you think BJ can convince Kye that he is NBA worthy. there are a couple of shooters in this class i would much rather have on the team.

I hope we get Lee, the JUCO whether BJ stays or not, Powell will open up a spot for him.

Re: Since I've been gone
I personally think the light will come on for Hunter next year. He already shows some good signs. He gets good dunks on fast breaks, he sometimes has a nice touch on mid-range jumpers, he gets occasional blocks but is just a hair slow in getting most of the blocks he tries.
It's not like he's an epic fail in this system. It's more like---IMHO---he's almost there in a lot of different things, but not quite there, and so we as fans see that he's not getting anything right. He's close, dangit!

Re: Since I've been gone
Here is the thing with Hunter, I agree he's learning, however he's slow, he can't play the wing in this system, has to be very mobile in order to succeed. And he's not a banger so the 5 is out. I think however Butler would be a great fit for him, he reminds me a lot of Gordon Heyward. I don't think he would excel in CMA's system either. JMHO

Re: Since I've been gone
gordon hayward? puleeze!!! i love Hunter and think he would do better at Butler as well but he is not even in the same zip code when it comes to the assasin and shooting, OR handling the ball. Gordon was an awesome small forward. Hunter is a finesse power forward, just lacking on the power. he needs a stud center to work off of. Powell is a finesse power forward. he just is better at banging down low. And this year has a better shot than hunter as well. bakedog19741 wrote: Here is the thing with Hunter, I agree he's learning, however he's slow, he can't play the wing in this system, has to be very mobile in order to succeed. Re: Since I've been gone
I don't think he's as good a shooter either, and I agree with your assessment of HM, but here is the issue. Lets say BJ returns, your starting 5 will probably look like this. BJ, Lee, Harris, Portis, Kingsley. Clarke is very similar to Powell and Qualls can play the 4 with Clarke at the five. So where does that leave HM. I don't want to see him waste away in CMA's system. However if he was on the floor with Portis or Kingsley, I think it'd help, but he's not as quick for the 4 and not enough of a banger for the 5. In Butler, and you are agreeing with me it's a slower pace more adjusted to his speed. 40 mins of Hell is just to up tempo for him. --------------------------------------------- --- fsHawgfan wrote: gordon hayward? puleeze!!! i love Hunter and think he would do better at Butler as well but he is not even in the same zip code when it comes to the assasin and shooting, OR handling the ball. --------------------------------------------- oh no, i agree with that completely, but i just didn't see the Gordon Hayward correlation AT ALL. He is more like the murphy kid from Florida. We just don't have a Patrick Young to draw the in the D
