Gee. Now he will have to give up his radio show on 93.3. It will be good to see old 21 back on the sidelines. And... Huh? What?..... Nevermind.

Here's a link to Michael Smith's bio at K-State:http://www.kstatesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/smith_michael00.html … One of the best players recruited by Smith at K-State was Tyler Lockett, son of former K-State superstar, Kevin Lockett (NFL) and whose uncle Aaron Lockett also played at K-State so getting Tyler from Booker T. Washington H.S. in Tulsa, OK should not have been too difficult. Looking forward to seeing what Michael can and will do with the talent he already has on campus; I'm sure those guys are excited about their new coach or will be once they meet him. Nice hire Coach Bielema. P.S. Coach Michael Smith is originally from New Orleans correct ?

Re: New WR Coach is...
Smith, who was named one of the top 10 recruiters in the Big 12 Conference this past season by Rivals, spent the first 11 years of his coaching career at Kansas State and was the running backs coach at Rice in 2006 before moving to Arizona for the 2007 (running backs) and 2008 (inside receivers) seasons.
I'd sure hope so.

Re: Michael Smith new wide receiver coach
Didnt Stan Heath recruit R Brewer?
Just because an athlete takes it to the next level dont mean that coach is worthy of my time. I'm not even questioning M Smith ability to coach or recruit. However to use Tyler Lockett as an illustration for great coaching requires much more from me before I put them on a pedestal.
Let's wait and see.
One thing we can be thankful for, the position is filled. Concerns I have and not limited to M Smith, recruiting "football players" development and drilling assignment into the player until its mechanical.

From the outside, looks like a nice hire. Plus it's someone familiar with the DFW area.

BHH, BHH, I was thinking the same thing and the fact that Tyler Lockett's father is Kevin Lockett who also played at KSU and in the NFL; not to mention Tyler's uncle Aaron Lockett who also is an alumni of KSU so I don't know how many kudos he's deserving of for bringing that young man into the fold. With all that said, I also know there are tons of accolades coming in from not only his peers but also from fans at KSU; usually the fans are so ticked off they have nothing but bad things to say no matter how deserving the coach may be. Welcome aboard Coach Smith !!!
