BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

Can Auburn win?  I don't think they can if they're one-dimensional (even though it's a helluva run game).  I doubt FSU will get gashed up the middle like Mizzou.  Winston passing vs. AU's secondary should scare Tigers fans.

Re: BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

I think Auburn will be OK on Offense even if they run a scheme like the last 3 games. The concern will be how Auburn's Defense plays against FSU's passing game. That's where the game will be won or lost. Auburn's D-line will need constant pressure on Famous.

What does "okay on offense" mean? 30 pts? 59 pts?

Auburn will win. FSU hasn't had a true test all season.

And Nobody, NOBODY, can stop this Auburn rush game. If Alabama couldn't stop FSU damn well can't. But keep saying it, like has been done over and over this season. The Tigers will keep going for over 300, or maybe just Tre.

Re: BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

They 've scored 34+ points in 8 straight games with the lowest total coming against a good Bama defense. I think Auburn's Offense can do the job needed to win...the question is whether or not Auburn's secondary can hold up against FSU's passing attack.

FSU can put 50 on Auburn's pitiful defense without breaking too much of a sweat.

Of course, Auburn can just as easily return the favor.  First to seventy wins.

Auburn offense may only see the field three or four times.. I'm not sure FSU can do anything with auburns return game, but watch them score...

Re: BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

We saw an old rudimentary football lesson play out last night starkly in the SECCG.  A great running game will trump a great passing game.  It directly follows that old football proverb that Darrell Royal use to quip while he bashed opposing teams with his Texas run dominating Wishbone. "When you pass the ball, three things can happen.  Two of them are bad."

That old football adage will get another test when the FSU passing attack faces the Auburn running game in the NC.  Personally I prefer staking my odds on the more balanced offensive attack that Alabama would have yielded in that game.

Auburn's fumbles kind of negate that Royal quote, lol.

hmmmm....not sure about that.  That would mean Auburn would only get the ball once or less a quarter.  As a second comment:  Auburn and FSU can both score quickly.  I think both teams will have plenty of opportunities on Offense.  It's the Defense for each team that will determine who wins.

Auburn wins. FSU has not played a team anywhere near this good the entire year. It is hard to play nothing but cupcakes the entire year with no close games and then go toe to toe with somebody who can man up. I expect a repeat of the Missouri game.

Auburn 49   FSU  42

FSU is probably a more complete team. Nobody has been close to them and they haven't needed any luck along the way either.

I guess we'll find out soon enough. Neither team has had a truly brutal schedule.

I do not see how?  Did you notice that Auburn won the game?

However for the sake of settling any potential argument you might bring.  Let's do a little elemental math if you are up to it.

In running the ball, one bad thing can happen. You nailed it, A FUMBLE.

In passing the ball, two bad things can happen.  An INCOMPLETE PASS or INTERCEPTION.

ONE BAD THING potentially happening over TWO BAD THINGS potentially happening each play is better over the long run of the entire game.  A mathematical equation.  Did you flunk elemental math?

Auburn has at least an excellent chance. They blocked Bama and blocked Mizzou and nobody else blocked either one of them all year.

Of course au can win. They got the devil on their side. They get every break they need and no reason to think that ends.

I like Auburn in a shoot out like 50 to 46.

What would you call a brutal schedule? Auburn played about 5 ranked teams and OSU and FSU played 2 each.

Exactly! F$U couldn't beat MO. Played in a pansy a** league that was weaker than the SEC East. Duke at 10-2 and in their CG should tell you all you need to know about the ACC. What a joke!  F$U at #1 is 2012 ND at #1 all over again.

RE: BCSNCG - FSU vs AU

I'm going 38-31 Auburn.

The special teams play and intangible lessons learned from SoS will keep Auburn close.

It all comes down to the fourth quarter after that.

FSU defense will be beaten down by the ground and pound offensive attack. Auburn's D line will be relatively fresh due to the sub strategy we've used all year. It will be yet another last minute drive that brings Auburn the Crystal Football.

I think Aubie wins. Football is won at the LOS, and Aubie is doing that.
