Associate head coach Jeff Battle is a friend of Ed Cooley.  They have a top 100 2014 pg in Shelton Mitchell committed there that would be a major player if he were to  be released.

Battle is easy pick to come to PC if Lafleur or Simon get a head job

Didn't Battle strongly consider joining big Ed after Cooley got the job?

Yes, but he had a kid in HS and didn't want to move the family.  I also think his wife had just passed away?

Even though they have a gigantic endowment I have some compassion for Wake.  With the expanded ACC, they are guaranteed to be perennial bottom fishers for eternity at least.  But the good news is that the BeeCeeingYa Eagles will be right next to them (this is why I don't think that Amaker will move there from Harvard).  IMHO Wake would be better off in the new Big East.

I tried to repost a tweet he had several hours ago. He didn't seem too thrilled with the tp-ing of the quad.

A few of the national guys I have seen keep saying that Howland will be very much in play for Wake.  Im not sure if there is a connection to the AD, but just the mention of Howland is more than I have seen for anywhere else including BC

When the team is good-- Wake fans show up. It's not a bad job.

Granted, it's nestled in there with Duke, UNC, and NC State -- but you'll get support when the team plays well. Like ourselves, they've just been under the radar for quite some time, so a splash hire could be expected. I'm not sure if Ben Howland is that guy, but he certainly would fit that description.

“I don’t feel student-athletes should get hundreds of thousands of dollars, but like I said, there are hungry nights that I go to bed and I’m starving,” Napier said to reporters.
