I listened to Jameis Winston's Press Conference

.........it illustrates better than anything else why I've lost interest in college football.

Re: I listened to Jameis Winston's Press Conference

My comment has almost NOTHING to do with Winston's legal issues (although it does reveal his true character, rape or no rape).  Boy couldn't even speak a sentence with correct English.  He's in COLLEGE!  A disgrace.  But I'm sure that all the FSU fans out there don't give a rip what he says and how he says it.

And it's not just FSU.......it's pandemic.

So his grammer dictates his intellect?  Just asking.  I've heard him speak many times and it really seemed clear to me.

Take it that you didn't see him on Letterman last night.

Well if Auburn / FSU have a speech program for the national title, it would be a draw. I have yet to understand a word Nick Marshall said.

not a true measure of intelligence but clearly it is a measurement of education or lack there of.  obviously a great football player and if able to navigate any more social ills or injury probably on to the nfl - where his inability to speak with eloquence or even clearly is of little concern. the ability to speak is directly connected to ones ability to communicate ones thoughts, ideas ... intelligence.  i am sure he is a bright young man but he has a long way to go before many would trust him with anything other than a ball.

I predict he'll do time. Not in the NFL. LMAO You should hear some of the AU running backs give interviews after the game. Embarrassing!

If you're speaking of Tre Mason, you're confused.

He's just a redneck from Alabama...not unlike most of y'all....oops sorry to the regional slang. Don't want to sound unintelligent. Just like most of you gentlemen.
So- all the players get others to write their English papers...assumptions like that are more ignorant sounding than anything a person can "sound like." Better make sure someone in house hasn't copy and pasted Wikipedia in a paper they've turned in before you start pounding your superior chest.
The guy can play football, he won an award for that- congratulations on using your talent to better your life. Use is wisely is what I say to Winston.
Enter the 21st century and leave your bigotry behind is what I wish for y'all that think it's appropriate and Christian to judge, hate, and discriminate!

If you are not embarresed listening to Winston's press confrences, you obviously have zero intelligence or respect for black people yourself. Listen to RG3, the man has rspect for himself, his culture and the orginization he represents. FSU should be ashamed of having such an incompetant future convict represent their school. The guy is keeping it real fo sheezy. You want to know why young people are lazy ass bums, who can't speak English and stay in trouble, be it drugs or trying to be a hard ass packing a gun cause you too big of a pussy to fight with your fists? Look no further than the Jameis Winston's, Washuan Ealey's and Arron Hernandez's of the world. And I am sure when you can't think of any other way to defend the punk or his actions you will resort to calling those who see it for what it is a RACIST. So go ahead and sterotype me a racist because I tell the truth and do not give a **** about your feelings or political correctness also known as kissing the ass of people doing wrong as not to offend them. The problem with this country is the rights of criminals, of nonchristians, and the rights of queers and lesbians taking precedence over the rights of hard working and just American people. And if you don't like that I offer you my sincerest middle finger salute.

Re: I listened to Jameis Winston's Press Conference

So Winston is grouped with Hernandez who murdered someone but not Mettenberger or Rothlisberger because why? Because they speak well or because those two quarterbacks are white - as all quarterbacks should be. And Washun Ealey was the best black football criminal you could pul? Why not OJ or Mike Vick? Judging by your argument you are far to simple to thing obscure Georgia rb.
The problem with this country is you and I didn't call anyone a racist I said let's leave our bigotry behind...a subtle difference that was lost. Merry Christmas from the "politically correct" remember the reason for this season!

Re: It's Pandemic

"....widd all the things I done been thoo...."

http://atlanta.cbslocal.com/20...nd-the-fallout/

Saturday night Florida State QB Jameis Winston became the youngest Heisman Trophy winner ever at 19 yrs, 11 months, 8 days old. Now, as Homer once said, “In youth and beauty, wisdom is but rare!” And a lot of people have been questioning Jameis Winston’s wisdom, grammar skills, enunciation, manners, etc.

Not only did Winston’s speech consist of poor grammar and poorly enunciated words, but the lack of a handshake or hug and failure to mention his fellow nominees in his speech, made Winston seem as if he was there all by himself.

The criticism came no louder than from Sean Thompson, Producer of The Morning Show. When discussion of the speech and the outbursts on Twitter that followed came up, Sean came right out and said that “as a black man, I cringed”. This lit the phone lines, text lines and Twitter up immediately. Some Tweets agreeing with Sean, some not so much.

Coming soon to a school near you

I have a feeling that this type of activity goes on at most universities.  Mark Richt catches a lot of flack for kicking kids off his team for things that others seem to "sweep under the rug".   For that I respect him and hope UGA keeps him around for a long time.

The sad part of all this is it occurs in many high schools as well and some administrations turn their heads also.
