Follow up on Kaluka story

Follow up on Kaluka story

There was a post earlier today concerning an alleged incident involving Kaluka Maiava in Hawaii.  What we can confirm is that there was an altercation of some sort and that a police report has been filed.  As of last night, no arrests have been made and no charges have been brought.  We will keep you posted if we hear any other confirmed details.

In other words...it appears the offseason has officially begun.

Great.

I have several calls in to Maui folks to see what's up on the scuttlebutt circuit.  I'll let Garry know if I hear anything important.

Yep, don't need people like that on this team.  Hopefully this isn't as it appears.

What do you say we wait...

for the facts on this. I don't like it when our players mess up, but it happens. And when it does, they have to own up to it. But let's not provide fodder for the trolling population out there.

[edit:meant to say "not provide fodder"]

Like the whole Mark Sanchez thing, this doesn't really sound right.  Kaluka always seemed like a really good kid.

I suppose we'll find out soon.

Well, I guess by the end of the summer and the start of fall camp, we'll be happy there was so much depth on the team,,,,no telling how many more will get nailed for doing something this summer!

That's why I said, "without knowing the details".   I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he did not accidently hit a girl.   IF he hit a girl there is no excuse.

O come on now. Why can't there be "No altercation, that guy was lying?"

This is embarrassing.

There could have been a serious provocation.

 Jim,

I liked your idea last year when you made the post having players and even family sign a petition on not getting involved with agents.

I'm going to go a step further and say, that every kid participating in College Sports should be requested to sign some kind of document before accepting a scholarship, saying I will not mess up. PERIOD!

If either the student or family of a student screw up, they are Adios, gone and so goes the cholarship down the tubes.

FIGHT ON to the NCAA growing some Balls and implementing such rules and Laws. They only want to punnish and not solve any problems.

Each and every program should be able to have some kind of Seminar, on how to stay out of trouble.

FIGHT ON for SC in '07!

Exactly!  Never hit any female at any time.  Regardless of the circumstances.  Men will always be deemed the culprit, as a female is usually the weaker of the two.
