Lots of Indians references in the movie "Moneyball"

Watched the movie "Moneyball" over the weekend. I was somewhat surprised to see so many references to Mark Shapiro and the Cleveland Indians. Several times during the movie they covered trades (or potential trades) between the A's and Indians. Remember Ricardo Rincon? Ha ha. I did find the movie to be somewhat nonfactual though. They made it seem like the entire A's squad of 2002 was made up of a bunch of rag-tag scrubs from teams that nobody else wanted. I don't recall them ever mentioning during the movie that the A's team of that era had an outstanding starting pitching trio in Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, and Barry Zito. Miguel Tejada also barely got mentioned and I don't remember them talking about Eric Chavez at 3B at all.

Check the salaries of their Big 3 that year. Combined those guys made about 2 million. That's what money ball was all about. Even Tejada was only making 3.5 mil that year, an absolute bargain.
